"Husband had dental surgery. Started having chest pains and the nurses went into action we have always had great experiences at hastings"
"WOMEN GIVING BIRTH I ADVISE YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL. I would give 0 stars but that’s not an option. I went to Hastings for my whole pregnancy and the only complaint i ever had through the clinic is they do not induce even if you’re expected to have a large baby or if you ask to be induced, & i guess some mid wives are “hands off?” and won’t check your dilation or do a requested membrane sweep. i went to my 38 week appointment and was told “i don’t practice that way, i’m more of a hands off midwife” after i asked her to check and see if i was dilated. i had to bring my mom so we could BOTH beg for a membrane sweep after i was told no when i reached 39 weeks expecting a “10 pound baby”. i was given c-section paperwork, but was told i had to try the natural way before they would preform a c-section. delivery time comes and i head up after my water broke, i got a nurse who had Parkinson’s i believe and it was her first week back after taking 10 years off trying to give me an iv. after 2 blown veins and another miss i had to request another nurse because she was hurting me so bad and i was in more pain from that then the contractions i was having. the epidural doctor was amazing! it eventually wore off 2 hours later and i was dilated to a 9 with no medication. they had me pushing for 7 hours after my epidural wore off with no progress. i was in so much pain and my baby was in no hopes of coming out because she was hung up on my pelvic bone. i told them to give me the c-section after they asked and I HAD A NURSE COME TO MY BED SIDE TELLING ME THAT I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO “suck it up and push that baby out, birth is painful” when they are the ones who told me she was hung up and wouldn’t come out. i got snarky remarks like “the c-section team is going home” “just bear down and push” “she’ll eventually come out” “we don’t have time for this”. after 20 hours i FINALLY got handed off to the C-section team and have NO complaints with any of them! all of the students were amazing and doctors kept me calm and made sure i knew i was going to be okay. absolutely no complaints with the c-section team, but the clinic and the labor and delivery women. YOU ALL ARE A JOKE. postnatal i had a nurse named Kim, i will never forget that woman. she made me feel heard and took such great care of me and my little babe. if i could’ve brought Kim home with me, i would’ve. all in all it was the most traumatic day of my life when it’s supposed to be such a beautiful experience. i’m indian and used to love the hastings hospital but i will NEVER step foot in this hospital again because of the things that were said to me and the way i was treated. i will gladly deliver locally. thanks for coming to my ted talk :)"
"imagine driving an hour and a half away, told to be here at 9:30. We get here at 9 for my boyfriends surgery and he never went into surgery until 2pm. 5 hours later, then he wasn’t released for another 2 hours. I understand running behind but this was ridiculous"
"I set up an appointment for dentures. Upon my initial evaluation I found out I was eligible and submitted all the proper paperwork to start the process. After my initial evaluation the doctor told me that she wanted to do fillings on my bottom teeth. I informed her that I set up the appointment for dentures for the top part of my mouth. I was uninterested in doing fillings at the time for my bottom teeth. She seemed to understand and reset my appointment for about a month away in the middle of January. I received a call a couple days before my appointment to confirm my arrival and was told that the appointment was for fillings instead of extractions for my top. I explained my position again and everyone seemed to be on the same page. Whenever I arrived at my appointment Doctor Roberts was ready to jump right into my bottom feelings whenever I stopped him in his tracks and told him that's not why I'm here. I'm here for extractions for my top denture procedure. Like I was told while setting up my visit previously. At that point Dr Roberts was frustrated and the left the medical room to go speak with the director of the clinic. The director told him that I am there for extractions and he came back irritated and was very aggressive with my mouth. He used all of the local anesthetic that he was legally allowed to use on me and in fact bent the anesthetic syringe inside my gums and continue to used the bent syringe. 5 days after my extractions and I am only having issues with the areas where he repeatedly stabbed me with the anesthetic syringe. My extraction holes are doing great. I would like to request a new doctor that actually cares about their patients and listens to them. I understand the more times I come back the more government funding probably goes into this facility and I'm fine with that. But let's get you funding for my dentures first before you start using me as a way to make more money. I would like my chart to be looked over and I would like to be contacted. I have already sent a letter out to the Cherokee Chief. I hope at some point this Hospital could care about their patients."
"Glad that I am able to be a patient/ use this location when need be! My family and I have always been taken good care of with our visits. With it being free sometimes you will experience a longer waiting list on appointments and for them to get back to you about things. All around still thankful for Hastings! (New building coming soon!)"
