"My wife stopped there last year for a girls trip and told me how great the fried shrimp was. Since it was our 32nd wedding anniversary, we decided this might be the place to take a road trip and celebrate, especially after reading all of the cajun style options on the menu (we're both originally from the Texas/Louisiana coastline). So, we get there and are immediately seated. Nice atmosphere with an outstanding view. We explained this was our anniversary and brought in a bottle of wine to celebrate (fyi...the site says its a dry county, so if you need a little extra, bring it yourself). The waitress was very attentive to our needs, since we did forget glasses, and even a corkscrew. She was there lickity-split to take care of us. Food-wise, the experience was split down the middle. We ordered the fried green beans as an appetizer, and these were phenomenal. Fresh cooked with just the right amount of zing to make them really good. The wife ordered the fried shrimp again, and these were a true large gulf shrimp (and not from a pond farm somewhere). I ordered the blackened ribeye with boudin. And, its important to place here...at one point the owner came thru and said this was their signature dish and i would love it. If not, just let him know and they would make me something else. The flavor profile was there (hint... chef prudhomme would be proud) and the boudin had good flavor. BUT...the ribeye was not good, at all!!! It was a very poor grade steak that was tough and I would say 40% was fat. So, you may ask, did I say anything about it? The answer is no. Should I have...probably so. However, my wife had an amazing experience here the first time, and she wanted this to be a special treat for me/us on our anniversary, so I opted to stay quiet and not make a scene. Looking back now (especially for what they charged me, i should have made it a point to point this out). I was hoping the owner would have swung back thru and seen the huge glob of uneaten fat/gristle, but after his initial comment, we never saw him again. And then the moment passed. So, I say this to let you know I believe this place should be experienced for the view/ambiance/experience, and to enjoy some good cooking...but please, please, please...stay away from the steaks."
"There aren't many restaurant options in the Jasper area, but the Cliff House Inn is a great choice. The view is exceptional and the food is good, plentiful, and fresh. There is also a small gift shop and a hotel (which I did not visit). The food was a bit pricey."
"Beautiful day to visit! Had a 30 minute wait which allowed us to wait on the back porch and take in the amazing views. I had the chicken fried steak and wife had cat fish. Both were tasty and the slaw was excellent. I suggest visit Arkansas’ “Grand Canyon” along AR Highway 7 and make time to visit the Cliff House Inn!"
"We are at the restaurant. Parking is beside the restaurant and if it's full, there is another section just down from that. As you enter, there is a little gift shop and you also pay here. This is a small restaurant with a beautiful view. Children under 13(I believe is the age) are not allowed outside on the deck. You cannot eat outside, but there are benches to set. All tables have a view. The view is worth the visit. Food- I got the chicken fried steak. The batter was well seasoned and crispy and the beef inside was thick and good. The mashed potatoes and gravy were a nice compliment and the green beans had bacon in them and were seasoned well. The rolls are fried. If donut was a bread... that's what it remind me of. It has the flaky, fried donut outside and bread roll inside. It isn't sweet like a donut, just the consistency of it. It was good but it a fan of the fried. We were curious about this hot water cornbread. Very interesting. Wouldn't get again. 8.99 for 4, very small and thick like Johny cakes that are fried. I don't think they are worth the value. For that price, there should have been at least 6 if not 8. Also.... don't get lemon in your drink. We both got lemon for our water and were charged 38 cents!!! My friend got the ham steak. She said it was good. Our server was nice and checked back."
"Didn't stay here, just dropped by on our way through for a quick lunch. Marvelous view, and even better food. Superb cajun cooking and one remarkable thing I have never had before but will definitely seek out. The dinner rolls seem to have been lightly deep fried. Delightful! Dessert was also top notch. Well worth stopping if you're cruising along hwy 7."
