"I had the Poke Bowl with salmon. SO delicious - I'm thrilled to have this option in Northfield. The sushi rice was delightfully sticky, the salmon was so tender, the veggies were crisp and flavorful. The service was also wonderful, such friendly people :) I will definitely be back many times."
"The food was very good, lots of choices, you can have something different every day. Employees were friendly and helpful. We sat on the left side of the restaurant it felt like a tunnel, next time we will sit on the other side. We will definitely go back."

"I think this was opening night, so take this review in that context. The general setup is a lot like you've seen at most fast casual restaurants: a queue area, a long food prep area with a kitchen behind it, register, condiment counter and seating area. The instructions on the glass and painted on the wall implied a "build-your-own" situation, but I could tell they were struggling with the woman in front of me who was trying to order poke. They did however have a poster right before the ordering area with preconfigured options. I'm not sure if these are there to inspire guests, if they are what the staff has trained on, or something else. Regardless, I ordered the Korean Cowboy Burrito. They had little paper slips of the ingredients to go into the preconfigured options as they went along building them - I assume to help since it's all new. No complaints from me. The woman who helped me was very friendly, thorough, and communicative. 6/5 stars for her - she's exactly who you want working in your restaurant. Drink options were limited, so I grabbed a Jarritos. The burrito was wrapped poorly and the wrapper was folded wrong, which made the whole affair messier than necessary. Thar said, it was very tasty and absolutely hit the spot. There were a few grains of overcooked, hard fried rice in it, which were not fun to bite into as a surprise inside the burrito though. I think the food has a lot of potential. They somehow seem to have too many options right now but maybe not the ones that could make me a regular. For example, there's seared fish, but if they had cubed / spicy tuna like traditional poke places, I feel I could eat here daily. The other meat options all seed solid. The only thing I'd add is spicy Korean pork (jeyuk bokkeum), but that's me. For drinks, some agua fresca would be phenomenal. If they got their alcohol license, some Mexican beers, soju, other on-theme drinks would be fun. The ambiance is... Lacking. It feels kind of clinical or like a cafeteria. There are murals painted on the walls, but nothing to add texture or dimensionality. There are some nice hanging fixtures, but they are overwhelmed by the harsh overhead lighting. Everything feels like it's at harsh right angles, so there's not really anything cozy or casual about it. Rather, it feels somewhat formulaic. Overall, I think that Gong Loco is a great addition to the area that's doing something totally different. If they can hit their stride, make the ordering process smooth for everyone, and make the vibe a little better, I think they'll be around for a long time."
"I got the Cha Cha Chino and my husband got the tuna poke bowl. They were both delicious. We also got the queso and chips sooooo good! I can tell this place will never get old because the menu is so versatile."
