"Attempted to eat here on a Thursday evening. We waited for 25 minutes; nobody took our order. Place was moderately busy and there seemed to be an adequate number of servers. Disappointing, but maybe for the best as everything on the menu was overpriced anyway. Not recommended."
"The staff are lovely! I had a shake and a basket of fries. Kinda wished they had a more classic take on a shake, with the simple addition of whipped cream and a cherry on top. Nitpicky, I know. I would like to see more options on the menu in the future, or maybe improving upon what they already have. My friend did not necessarily love her chicken tenders, which is why I deducted a star. I love the venue and I am so happy to see it reopen, but I think I will wait a little while to return so some of the kinks that come with a reopen can be worked out. I think this could easily become a staple of UMN again in time."
"I was excited to check out this place’s reopening but it wasn’t really all that. A very mid or average diner in Dinkytown on the U of M campus. Their malts didn’t really taste like they had any malt powder in them but the price of 10$ was really reasonable as they easily gave u enough for 2 or even 3 people in just one malt. The food is pretty expensive though and doesn’t come with fries, fry baskets are separate and are pretty pricey. The fries were pretty crispy though so I thought they hit the mark on that :) I love chicken tenders though so I was excited to try theirs- but they were WAY too salty. I mean just COATED in salt. I couldn’t even eat them because of so much salt. The menu was pretty small too, only like a handful of diner options (basically JUST burgers, fries, or chicken tenders). Our waitress seemed nice but she did leave at once point and we could never track her down. Super busy packed place and super loud also. I probably wouldn’t go back again but not the worst experience. I just hope they take some suggestions and continue to improve…"
"The food was great, so happy Annie’s is back open! The only negative part of my experience was that the woman who seated me (seemed to be a manager) was not very friendly to us which was disappointing. I know it just reopened so I’m sure they’re still working out kinks but overall a good experience."
"It’s so great to see this place back up and running. The sign board adds so much character to Dinkytown. Tried the fries, blueberry and coffee malts. Half portion of fries were more than enough for 3 people. The malts were amazing. The consistency was like ice cream. Again, very large portion size. They give you about 2 and a half times the quantity of the glass in the picture for 1 malt order. I believe they are still trying a small menu, but in the future, I would love for them to have some vegetarian and vegan foods (maybe a grilled cheese or veggie burger) which is why I am giving 4 starts for the food. Edit: They have impossible patties, but you have to ask them specifically for it. It is not on the menu."
