"A good Pho and Bahn Mi spot on campus. Fast service and tasty. The broth is consistent and the sandwiches are delicious. The spring rolls and the eggs are tasty."
"I’m not sure what are these? They were like rocks and broke my teeth. They were all over the dish. I’ll definitely reach out to the state food safety about this restaurant . And the chicken lemoein taste was terrible."
"I could not enjoy what seemed like a delicious bowl of bun bo hue because there was a dead mouse near my table.. So many questions... How did he perish? Where did he come from? Did he mess around in the kitchen??? To make matters worse, the waiter definitely looked over at him a couple of times before another brave patron asked for his body to be disposed of."
"Pains me to leave a bad review, I’m not very hard to please. But this place has some major issues from my visit. From when I entered with my friend to the meal, the service seemed a bit rude and hasty. The Diet Coke that I ordered tasted like water??? Why would I pay $2.25 for water when they serve me standard tap water anyhow to begin with. I ordered a seafood chow fun and my friend ordered the A1 beef pho. The wait wasn’t long, and the plating was good. It looked good until I dug in. From the moment I dug in I tasted essentially no flavor from the chow fun. Which is fine, I’ve had numerous chow funs before and it’s not exactly known to be bursting with flavor. It’s a stir fry you can stuff your face with. The problem arises when I bit into my protein, seafood (shrimp and squid). The shrimp tasted somewhat raw. It wasn’t fully cooked almost, which is absurd since in my experience at working at restaurants the shrimp is already pre-cooked in water so how the hell can it be raw after you toss it in stir fry??? The squid also had no taste and felt oddly squishy as well, like it was also not fully cooked. Cooked squid should be rather tough yet chewy, but this was more squishy than anything. I couldn’t finish all the shrimp due to the odd raw taste…and the pricing on this was quite high. I paid 18$ for this seafood chow fun and the shrimp wasn’t even fully cooked? Absurd. On my friends end, the pho seemed to be okay. He didn’t quite like the beef, it was over cooked and too tough. Seasoned pho enjoyers will know that the beef has to be thinly sliced and almost raw so it cooks itself in the broth. It seems like the beef was also precooked and overdone at that. The broth itself was alright though, he summed it up to about a 7/10. He asked for srriacha, and the server seemed to rudely remark and let him know they don’t have sirracha here, implying the hot sauce they have here is of some other brand so that’s also just a shame. All in all I just can’t recommend this place at all. The store next to it, sidewalk kitchen, although not Vietnamese is simply just a better choice. The service, the odd Diet Coke and shrimp, it’s just a no go. It’s a shame too because they have a massive menu and probably have some good gems in there, but I can’t see myself coming back after this first experience."
"Stopped by for a quick lunch. Had a small A1 Pho with everything. The broth was light, savory, and sweet. Not my preference, but it is good flavor profile for new enjoyers of pho. I usually enjoy a more savory and beefy broth. There are the usual siracha, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and soy sauce. Not sure what brand and so I can’t say if it is the best quality but it does what it needs to do in terms of flavoring to your like. Wish there was chili oil present, but I’m sure you can pay more for it. Overall, a decent place to enjoy food. The service was quick and we’re pretty friendly. Bathrooms are for customers only. College town eats pretty much, I would stop by again to try their other dishes, but pho wise it is a 7/10 for flavor, good amount of meats, nice portions, and decent price."
