Reviews of Allure Intimate Apparel
"Dee is amazing! Very knowledgeable and ensures you get a great fit for your body."
"Dee was super helpful for my bra fitting. I learned new tips when fitting a bra and Dee was very knowledgeable about about the aspects of different bras."
"Discovered this store about 6 months ago and had a great experience with a fitting and purchasing a couple of bras. Figured I had found my 'go to' store at last and was excited to shop there in future. One of the bras was a flesh colored one, which I knew would be great for summer under white and light colored tops. The other was a bright pink, so I kept that one in a drawer to save for winter, to wear under darker colored clothes. A couple weeks ago, I took off the tags and wore it for the first time. At the end of the day, I had a scratchy feeling on my back but didn't think too much of it, until the same thing happened the next day, only this time the area was very sore and when I looked in a mirror I had a rough red sore exactly under the edge of the strap. I examined the strap and saw that in two places it was unfinished, exposing rough edges of fabric and this is obviously what had been causing the soreness. I took it back into the store, asking to exchange it for one that was not defective in this way. Firstly, I spoke with a woman who did not smile nor greet me, and seemed very abrupt. As soon as I explained the issue, she went to the computer and immediately said 'you must have bought it a very long time ago as you're not in our system'. I knew I was in the system as I remember giving my information. I was told I would have to wait for the manager to return as she would have to make the decision about exchanges. When the manager came back, she found me quickly on the system, but she said because it was 6 months ago since I made the purchase, she would not exchange it for me. I pointed out the issue and her response was 'Usually if that happens, I just take a file to it and file it down'. For an expensive bra, this was not acceptable to me. Her next offer was to have their seamstress sew some fabric over the rough unfinished edges. I asked again if they would exchange it so I didn't have to wait for it to be repaired, given it had an obvious defect. I was told emphatically no, since I had washed it and removed the tags. I did not try the bra on when I bought it as it was exactly the same style and size as the flesh colored one I was wearing - with hindsight, I should have - I didn't expect the same style and size bra to have an issue which would make it unwearable. Having read some of the reviews here and the responses that you are often very lenient on your return policy, it was disappointing that this was not the case for me. I know I had bought it months before, but having only worn it twice and just discovered the problem, I felt they might have made an exception to keep what would have become a very loyal customer. I actually went in that day thinking I might buy some more in other colors, but left buying nothing as I did not feel at all welcome in the store. When I was told because I had washed it they could not resell it, I pointed out that it had a defect, so surely they would not resell it anyway? I was then told this does not count as a defect - so it turns out that something that is rough and not finished properly is not defective and if I'd kept the tags and not washed it, they would have sold it to another customer. The whole experience this time around was so vastly different to my first experience in the store, perhaps the staff are different now, but the fact that they would not exchange an item that caused me pain and discomfort to the point I was about to dispose of it, is poor customer service. The seamstress did sew some fabric over the two rough areas, and it did stop the rubbing, however it does not look as good as it did when it was new. I would totally have understood the lack of willingness to exchange the item if I had simply changed my mind or wanted another color or style, but it is incredible that a company will not do so when there is a clear defect in the item. This past week I found the identical style in different colors on Amazon for almost half the price, with a better return policy. There is no reason for me to shop here again."
"Dorothy was so helpful with my fitting. I look soooo much better now. I will definitely be back soon!!"
"I would say it was worth visiting only once. I was having bra fit problems for years. I finally decided to give this place a try based off the fact that they have women there who can help you find the right fit. The lady was nice and gave helpful advice that I hadn’t heard before when it comes to bras and finding the right fit. That will come in handy in the future. But they seem to have different sizes than the rest of the world. I was hoping to match the size they gave me with other locations since I can’t afford their high prices all the time but their sizes don’t seem to match up. I bought 2 bras for $170. It’s super pricy for me. Their care instructions require only washing them every two times you wear them and not with regular Tide detergent. There are a few ingredients in laundry soups they want you to avoid because the bras are too delicate. Which is kind of annoying but for the price you pay it’s worth taking the advice. I was given a tighter bra and told it would stretch out a little. Yeah… it’s been hurting my ribs. It hasn’t stretched at all. It even popped a few seams on the side of the band just from trying to wear it. So even their fitting was a little bit off and I wish I had listened to my instincts and asked for one more size up in the band. I got a hook extender from Walmart instead of returning for an exchange. Their return policy unfortunately is only valid if you didn’t wear it, you didn’t wash it and it has the tags attached still and within 14 days. So it doesn’t give you any chance to wear it before realizing it’s the wrong size or fit. The fabric is soft but really thin. Not a good looking bra either. Very bland and plain just like getting a bra at Walmart would be. I was disappointed that for the price it looked no different than any other one I had but I was desperate for something that fit better. Unfortunately even these kind of disappointed since the band was too tight."
