"Visiting from out of town, and was recommended to come here. Glad we did! I ordered the pork belly and my buddy and I split the hangover noodles. So tasty! I was full but couldn’t let that pork belly go to waste! It was tender and the flavor was amazing. Also love the “food hall” atmosphere with a few different restaurants inside you can order from. Was a great place to hang out and have a meal with a friend. Outdoor there is a giant fire pit for those colder nights too."
"Closer to a 4.5 in terms of rating which I will elaborate on now: The savory food was amazing! The pork belly was some of the best I have ever had, well-seasoned, tender, oily, and in some ways quite resembled a type of pork belly from China called Chairman Mao's Pork in terms of tenderness and taste. Because of my dieting habits, two pieces of pork belly were too much for me and my stomach started feeling some type of way, but I think the general crowd would enjoy two pieces or even more. The Hmong sausage tasted just like what I have had before in Hmong households, which was a great thing, albeit slightly underseasoned, but adding the spicy chili flakes on the side made it much better. The chicken leg tasted amazing as well by itself because of the lemongrass, and tasted even better if one added the green sauce onto it! Then, the khao sen rice noodles and the amazing salad both tasted good. It was pretty obvious that the meat was the star of the zoo siab dish, so the sides didn't taste as out of this world as the main entrées, but they were still solid. I was, however, pretty disappointed at the dessert which was coconut tapioca pudding with salted pineapple and toasted coconut. It tasted like it was pre-made and came straight out of a fridge or freezer, because there was absolutely no sweetness. The tapioca pudding was mushy, clumpy, and tasteless, which didn't allow the coconut flakes on the top to demonstrate its power. I also tasted no salted pineapple at all when I was having this dessert. After such excellent savory food, it definitely wasn't the best way to end my UHK experience. With all that said, I would still highly recommend this food place to those that desire some quality Hmong food in the North Loop area."
"It was sooo good! We ordered the Graze to split with 3 people and still have leftovers. Bring your appetite if eating this!! The restaurant is in a location that has several other restaurants and bars that share the dining spaces, so plenty of choices if you don't want Hmong food. The restaurants also do an automatic 18%tip as they pool tips for their staff. So it was about $150 for everything (food, tax and tip)."
"The food and vibe of this place is great. I got the grilled chicken with the tiger sauce and husband got the skirt steak also with the tiger sauce. We also got the lemongrass sauce on the side. Everything was great. I just thought the skirt steak was a bit tough and I had a hard time chewing but the flavor was on point. The union Hmong kitchen is located *inside* graze with a few other eateries sharing a dining space with open seating. They also have a bar and you can reserve some spaces for special events. Overall it was a good experience."
"Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 My husband and I ordered the zoo siab meal for the steak with a side of curried potatoes and chicken with side of khao sen noodles, marinated pork belly and skirt steak, and chicken sandwich. Presentation was mouth-watering. Both steaks and pork belly was marinated very well and tasted good even without pepper (and I love spicy foods). The sides we got were more on the light side which compliments the protein well. The grilled chicken and chicken sandwich was OK, the steak and pork belly was tastier in my opinion. I would definitely come again to try other items on the menu."
