Reviews of Saigon Uptown Restaurant
"They have been here for years and it is a family who owns and operates it. Good people! My favorite as well as my wife's and her sister's favorite is the chow mein with crispy noodles. I think they make their own noodles and they are the best crispy noodles I have ever had. They are unique and very light and crispy. I get the chicken chow mein and my wife gets the fried tofu version. It's not a saucy chow mein. It is like a stir fry and the vegetables are crisp and fresh. I don't like old fashion chow mein with the heavy sauce. For $10 you get a large portion and I just love it! Egg rolls and spring rolls very good too. They do a lot of takeout so there is always plenty of places to sit. That plus the lack of decor I give it a 3 for atmosphere. Parking in the rear or on the street is not a problem."
"Ordered egg rolls, strawberry bubble tea, and sweet and sour pork for delivery via Uber Eats. At first I thought the portions were on the smaller side, but they were perfect for 2 people. Everything was fresh and excellent. :)"
"My favorite restaurant in the city. A hidden gem. I get the coconut curry with mock duck or the cashew one (vegan enough for me). Flavor is so good. Portions will have you full. Service is very kind. Usually quiet and peaceful. Parking available in the back."
"I’m not impressed! The portions I got for take out is laughable! Rice is one of the cheapest things in the world. I order sweet and sour chicken and I got a 10 McNuggets. If you want to keep your customers, you must think about your portion size. I was disgusted when I got home to see, there was hardly no food."
"First of all, the food is delicious. I enjoy the food so much that I overlook the extreeeeemely slooooow service. The atmosphere is clean, cold and quiet. There is one nice older lady who shuffles about and runs the show (I suspect she is the waitress, cook, cashier, busser AND answers the phone). As soon as I walked in, I asked for spring rolls and wings, because I was starving and already knew it would be a long while before any food was on the table. My guest who had never been there before was convinced the nice lady ventured to Antartica on dogsled for the ice as it took about 25 minutes to get a glass of water. We were sincerely the only table there so I think the majority of the business is composed of much smarter customers who call in their orders. (I am doing that next time). I have some photos, but I apologize, we had waited a good 50 minutes for our food and dove in when the plates were set down (before I could get a photo). Spring rolls are amazing. I had chicken chow mein and my friend had lemon chicken. It was all delicious. Maybe bring a sandwich to hold you over until the food comes? Also, pack some salt because there were no salt shakers anywhere. Pepper, soy sauce and sugar was all they had out. I would have asked for some, but that might have been another long wait."
