"I’m not really sure what’s going on with this place. It used to be great! It’s in such a wonderful location and I do love Wayzata however, when we went there the other night after having a dinner elsewhere and wanted to grab a couple cocktails, we were less than impressed. The workers did not seem to enjoy being there. The energy was completely down. Why on earth would you not be playing some sort of music on a Saturday night around 8 PM? We asked the host to please turn on some music and they looked confused. One waiter said he thinks they play music during the day but not at night. Get a jukebox then?! I’m sorry, but if you are going to have a bar that you want people to frequent you have got to have the vibe right. Throw on some tunes! I’m not asking for a dance party but you have to have something lighthearted going on. It felt solemn and sad. Not to mention there was a drunk guy that kept coming up to our table and wanting to talk so it was very awkward and annoying. Trying to fist pump and high five, no clue who he was. We left after that. Sadly I won’t go here again. I think they changed post covid. Would love to see this place come to life again. I’d be happy to chat with a manager but I notice they don’t respond to the reviews on here…"
"The Wayzata Bar & Grill is locally known as “The Muni”. It caters to locals - but you’ll be welcomed and treated like a local as soon as you walk through the door. The place is welcoming and usually quite busy, though they somehow seem to always have a table free. It’s very family friendly, but serves just as well as a place to hang out with friends. There is a wide variety of offerings to choose from. Everything is fresh. If you like onion rings, they may have the best in the world. My go to is their Salmon Poke Bowl - it’s been on their “specials” for months and I hope it soon finds a place on the main menu. The burgers, gyros, and other sandwiches are all wonderful - as are the salads. You really can’t go wrong. If you like cheesecake, order a piece to share before you go (the slices are huge). The servers are always friendly and professional. My only complaint is the big screen TVs on the walls that are inescapable. I know a lot of folks like to watch sports while hanging out, but it just feels like an unnecessary distraction to me. A media free corner would be nice."
"The food was delicious! I asked my server if they could provide samples of hazy ipa so bf could decide which one he would like before choosing, and she pretty much huffed at me in disgust and then said maybe 1 or 2. I told her not to worry and waited for my bf to get to the table and told him to just choose 1 since it seemed to be a problem otherwise. Maybe she was having a bad day. Who knows but it was a bad way to start our experience. We split a bowl of the Chicken Wild Rice soup & a cheeseburger & fries. Both were so good!!"
"What has changed? We were a group of 2 couples. We were put at a very small table with not a lot of room for 4 and the table next to us had 2 people (they were seated after us) had a much larger table. There is no longer any happy hour deals. The steak bites that we ordered had 5 on the plate for $17.00. One ordered a flatbread shrimp and it had 6 shrimp on it and was bland. My bacon grilled cheese had one piece of bacon on it, could see the square of the american cheese as it wasn't melted, didn't see the swiss on it and the bread was still white and dried out like it wasn't buttered or grilled...like it was put in a toaster. One had the shaved prime rib and said the meat was very dry. The one who ordered the salad was ok. Beer and drinks were good. Coworkers and I used to go together there a lot after work and it was always good. I was embarrassed I suggested this meeting place as I thought everyone would be happy. Should have complained that night but we didn't want to go through the hassle."
"So fun! I've never played "pull tabs," so that was a 1st. The atmosphere is so chill, and the food was great and inexpensive."
