Takara Sushi

"Takara used to be my favorite sushi restaurant. Recently, there's been a drop in quality and service. Service has been slow. I just had an eel avocado roll. The eel tasted the way that rubber smells? Really odd, especially since I've had their eel rolls many times in the past, but it tasted inedible this time."

"Went here during lunch with coworkers. All you can eat is only $18 at lunch during weekdays. The menu is shortened compared to the dinner menu--mostly fewer specialty roll options. I was pregnant at the time, but still had 3 different rolls that did not contain any raw fish + spring rolls. Everything I tried was delicious and couldn't beat the price. Would be interested in returning after pregnancy for dinner to try my more usual options. It is important to know that they close between lunch and dinner, so there's a "last call" for ordering around 2:10 or so."

"Sushi was pretty bad; smaller than usual portions (compared to Kyoto) especially for $32 AYCE. Sashimi and fish in general was poorly sliced and spoiled/fishy. Tuna was gray. Service was great though, loved the waiter. Super nice and attentive, but would not go again because of the quality of the food."

"The employees here are very kind. We went during the early afternoon for lunch. It wasn't busy, and we were seated quickly. We didn't have to wait long for our food, either. I had the avocado sushi, miso soup, beef udon soup, and ice tea. The beef udon was my favorite."

"Takara Sushi is one of the better AYCE sushi in the area, it’s definitely worth the drive if you’re interested in stuffing yourself and trying a bunch of different things. Their menu offers the typical ACYE sushi fare, including sashimi, hand rolls, tempura items and noodle dishes. The menu differs in that Takara offers “kitchen specials” not seen at other similar restaurants, these specials include: Salt and Pepper Shrimp, BBQ short ribs, General Tso’s chicken to name a few. Pro-tip: the short rib order is one small piece so order a few. The items ordered were fair, typically at an AYCE sushi spot the flavors then to be the same amongst the rolls but this was not the case, each roll had their own unique flavors. Service was a bit slow from the kitchen. We ordered wings and thought they had been forgotten. Overall, Takara is worth a visit for AYCE sushi."
