Checker Board Pizza 511 Snelling Avenue, Saint Paul, MN 55104

"My go to Pizza when hosting groups of friends or after a Loons game. Their 20'' pizza is enough for 4 to 8 people and comes LOADED with cheese and square cut, perfect for sharing. One thing that really stands out about this place is the dough is fantastic; Fluffy & Crispy! I do find the prices here at a slight premium, but the pizzas do live up to the prices, especially the large and XL. I have only ordered the pizzas from this restaurant and cannot comment on other menu items. Service is always nice however interior of the building and atmosphere makes me reccomend this as a takeout spot over dine-in but do not let this take away from how great their pizzas are! A hamline-midway local business worth supporting."

"I am truly disappointed in the service and the food we received from Checkerboard. We have been supporting them for over 15 years and the way the manager spoke to my daughter was disgusting. She told her that because she was a business owner and my daughter was not, she would not refund our pizza that had NO sauce and a pie that their cook put spice on and we told the order on the phone there were children eating the pizza. They all bit into the pizza and it was too spicy so they threw it away. Because 8 pieces were missing they would not refund or remake the pie. I will no longer refer or order from Checkerboard."

"Absolutely amazing, the best pizza that ive maybe ever eaten. The cheese the sauce the crust. Its on point and delicious. Its a bit pricey but I have mo problems paying for this great pizza. The sizes are perfectly judged. The Xtra large is huge. I really want to have everyone come and try them out"
