"Eclectic place. Had a great breakfast sandwich made fresh. Locals said all the food is fresh & usually very good. Fun conversations with the local folks. For a nominal fee you too can be a walking billboard, so I am. IMHO - Anyone who thinks this place is scary should just stay home."

"Awful place with awful people working. We stopped for a bathroom emergency with my three year old with special needs and was treated so rudely, the guy working was so loud and rude that my daughter was too afraid to go any further in the store to go to the bathroom and end up pooping in her pants and all over the side of the road. I don’t know if I’ve ever been so furious and humiliated in public and not to mention just plain sad my daughter had to go through all that. Will never step foot in that place again. I have been there in the past multiple times and the store and restaurant are dirty, full of junk, and the food isn’t even good. I don’t know how that place stays in business."

"The toilet paper in the bathroom had one square left on it, and no extra rolls for me to use. NO paper towels I had to use my sweat shirt to dry my hands after washing them w/ water-downed soap; soap that had more than 75% water than actual soap in it. They tried to charge me an extra 50 cents when I tired to make a, (required to use bathroom,) purchase with my debit card, because it was under $15. Then told the cashier, probably Mel himself, I would take two packs of smokes to up my purchase price, but he only gave me one. Don't stop here unless you want to be treated very rudely. When I had gotten there the cashier pointed towards the back when I asked where the bathroom was didn't say a word to me until I was checking out. I'll stop on the side of the road and relieve myself in a ditch next time if that's the only place around."
