Reviews
"This place is the place to come eat. The owners are Very friendly and have very good food and authentic"
"We decided to go here for two reasons. One to try a new Mexican restaurant and two because of how great the reviews were. When we were reading the reviews we thought that this place was going to be really great, but we're not sure if we just went on a bad day or if the reviews are just wrong. In our experience here walking in you get more of a cafe feeling than you do a restaurant feeling. The reason I say this is because you go up to a counter to order an instead of having a menu. All of your food options are hanging above on posters basically. You can see a picture along with the price on the food item. They also have a large selection of drinks between fountain pops, beer, and jarroits. The service was not bad at all just the young lady seem to be shy. She helped us out quickly. Ask us what we needed and even let us know when our food was ready. My husband ordered a taco salad and I ordered four different kinds of tacos. We started with chips and salsa and for drinks we got two strawberry jarritos. The chips did not taste bad, but the salsa was horrible. The salsas remind both of us of tomato paste more than anything. It was extremely cold and so stiff that even when you tried mixing it, it still was nasty. We couldn't even finish the salsa at all. When we received our food it looked good. But like they say looks can be deceiving. My husband's taco salad bowl had so much rice and very little meat. He didn't even eat a quarter of his taco salad bowl because it tasted so bad. Tacos were not the greatest but I did try each one to see what the flavor was and for me it was very bland for each one of them. The best part about the food was the drinks and that's all. They did have this little bar station where you could go pick out three different types of hot sauce, limes, also some cilantro and onions. I got the extreme one which was not hot at all and had no flavor to it. My husband chose a different kind. I believe the mild one and he also didn't like it. For everything that we ordered and you can see in the pictures our price came to just over $31 for everything. Overall, we were not pleased with this restaurant at all. We honestly would not recommend it nor would we ever return. It was very high price for very little food that was not tasty at all. We constantly travel and are always trying New Mexican restaurants and by far this one was definitely one of the worst we have ever been to. On a little side note, I do know exactly what true authentic Mexican food tastes like considering that's all we ate in our household growing up (Grandma and grandpa came from Mexico). The food at this place definitely was not that."
"While working in town, I visited this spot for lunch. Doesn't look like much from the outside but once you get inside its pretty spacious. The colors and decor gave the venue a very festive vibe which was pretty cool. You will feel like you're stepping into an actual food spot in mexico. Their menu is very large and you should be prepared to have space in your stomach, because they pack their plates. I had the chicken guarache which was every bit of delicious. The customer service here is really good and i honestly feel like you get your money's worth when you eat here."
"I love the food here. The menu is large with many meats and vegetables. There is plenty of seating, friendly service and ice cream too. The salsa and cilantro and limes are self serve for those dining in the restaurant. There isn't table service you just order at counter. We ordered a torta and tacos. It's family and local owned and the recipes seem like home cooking , the tortillas fresh homemade. It's right off highway on a main street so easy to find lots of parking. This place a definite must stop for me in Pelican Rapids."
