"Stopped by with a ‘14 F350 — was curious about why the truck was shifting funny. It was explained to me that the crate engine we just installed will require tuning for it to match up with transmission. The tuning sounded all fine and dandy until the service advisor exclaimed that the process was illegal and would require cash payment. I’m not sure why this particular repair would require cash only OR why some programming would be illegal, but we did not feel like the risk was worth the reward so we took our business elsewhere. I’m sure these guys are great to work with if you’re looking to heavily modify your truck, but if you’re looking for dependable repairs that are not hidden behind a lack of paper trail; this shop is not for you. *UPDATE* These owners are non-stop liars. The truck in question was brought to the ATI shop to diagnose a rough shifting issue — we were looking for a replacement mechanic at the time. Their first recommendation right off the bat was an $800 cash-only tune/retune to basically redo whatever the previous mechanic did to the PCM. We did not wish to become mechanics OR criminals when we approached this shop. If the sarcasm from the owner isn’t thick enough for you to shop elsewhere, then consider yourself warned."
