"Interesting place. It doesn't look like much. But if you walk in the wash just to the North of the mine, you can find some interesting rocks including Green Onyx. On the gray flat just to the south of the mine... It looks like waste rock, you can find some Palm Bog if you look around and are willing to dig a little. It is quite a drive. Starting in Wenden, Head north ~12.2 mi on Alamo Lake Rd. Veer left on to power/ pipeline dirt Rd and go another 12.9 miles or so. Turn right into the wash and go back until you find a dirt road going right (~.4 mi). Follow it back another ~.4-.7 miles and you're basically there. Most off road vehicles will have no issues navigating the terrain. Expect 1.5-2.5 hours each direction plus whatever time you plan to spend exploring. Pack water, food and extra supplies as we didn't see another vehicle until we were back on Alamo Lake Rd."
