"Beautiful, great people! mosquitoes and flys are the only negatives. No facilities so be prepared ;)"
"Free BLM camping! Interesting history of the Colorado river and canals in this farming area…some cool old equipment & markers tell you a little about it! Great for a quick stop driving from Tucson to San Diego ~ dirt / gravel road no problem for most any vehicle ~ lots of privacy…spots are etched out around the lake ~ right at water’s edge ~ there may be an actual “campground” a little further up the road, but it’s all BLM…dogs enjoyed the sights & snells and break from the road! One note of caution…depending on the season…mosquitoes!!"
"Lots of people camped around, but very clean. Nice lake and beautiful wetland views. A ton of wildlife around, but more heard than seen. Gnats are thick during the day, and mosquitoes are vicious in the evening. Dust may be a problem, but the wind was in my favor. Road to it from the north is a bit rough."
"Terrific camping area! Lots of flat space and beautiful sunsets! We picked a cute spot in the trees but most out in open areas. Some with view of the lake. Easy access for small boat or kayak into lake too. Plus a nice dock to watch sunset and listen to the multitude of birds from."
"Awesome free camping, alot of sites for the most part as you can see, alot of them are smaller but bigger ones near the center. Not very level anywhere so bring blocks. Clean river to fish on or use water for personal use. Dry camping. no hookups or dump of course. No trash cans either but it is pretty clean so please keep it that way! Thanks"
