Reviews of Master's Kennels
"My first dog was trained by Greg Masters. He was great. Trying to get my new puppy into class. They learn do much"
"Training at Master's Kennels is great! Christine is patient and enthusiastic. We were able to leave the program with many new training skills. Our dog progressed very quickly with the drills we practiced at training, and the weekly homework assignments. Can't wait for next level!!!"
"We recently signed our dog up for training classes here. After a couple of sessions we decided that the fear-based training techniques used were not for us. It felt inhumane scaring our dog when they were misbehaving (shaking a loud can at them) or nearly choking them to get them to sit (forcing them to stand by holding the leash up high until they sat). My wife spoke to the owner on the phone to see if we could get a refund since we weren't going to continue with the classes. When the owner asked why, my wife explained that we weren't comfortable with the techniques used during training. The owner was then incredibly rude and snarky and even called our dog a bad breed and an airhead breed (he's a poodle mix). She even said if we left a bad review that people would laugh at it because they are such a "well known" kennel. We are understanding if a refund is not possible, but to be so unprofessional and rude was completely out of line. I never leave google reviews, but I had to pass this experience along. Before you sign up for dog training (wherever you go) make sure you know what techniques are being used to train your dog. To respond to the owners comments: We never once said that our dog didn't learn anything or that we were dissatisfied with his progress. What we told the owner was we didn't feel comfortable with the techniques they were using. During the second class the trainer even told my wife it was obvious that we were doing our homework. Regardless of the dogs progress, we explained why we weren't going to continue with training and were met with hostility and rudeness. There are other reviewers who have shared a similar sentiment. I have nothing against the kennel, I do however have a problem with a business owner talking down to their customers simply because they do not agree with them."
"We are very picky with where we take our dog. We found Master’s Kennel online and called to set a date. After an extended conversation with the owner I was certain we would be happy with their services! Our Remington spent three days there and loved it. The kennel has large play areas and the individual kennels are very large and comfortable! It is CLEAN and the indoor kennel area was fresh smelling when we arrived and when we returned!! We have already scheduled another visit!"
"We attend training here every week and they are amazing. We attended snake training today and it was very productive and exactly what we were looking for. The previous review on here stating they only use shock training is incorrect. The shock collar is only used for snake training and only used once or twice. During their regular training classes, they do not use shock collars or promote the use of shock collars. This company has been in business for years and I would highly recommend them."
