"Help was quick and easy to get. Happy that Fidelity has physical branch locations for services that can't be done online."
"I've always been quickly helped if I drop in or have an appointment."
"Dealing with the 800 number and their headquarters and transition services is like dealing with Wells Fargo days before their class action lawsuit. you could feel the lies coming from the transition services man's mouth, he also takes 3 or 4 weeks to get back to you by phone l"
"Their VP isn't a fiduciary. He misrepresented what he sold me and cost my family 50k. They didn't manage my account and made 5 token trades of 1% of my money. No communication took 4 days to talk to my money manager who I found out wasn't my money manager. They lied to me about making commision on the product when there own internal compensation documents show they do. They have no money savvy. I have been with them for 30 years and all they care about is taking the 1 percent from your account monthly. Don't ever trust these people. Their own managed services people told me they mismanaged my account and secretary told me they broke the law by trading my funds after I put two holds on the account. I will be filing a formal complaint with the SEC and FINA. Then they offered to refund a 1000 dollars to me if I would stay with them."
"I had a very similar experience to Jesse Henderson's. I have had two 529's with Fidelity Investments for over 5 years, and my oldest son is leaving for his first year of college in two weeks. I went to the Fidelity Investments location on Ray and 56th St. to discuss my current 529 investment strategy, how to withdraw funds, and to open a Roth IRA account for my son in order for him to start saving for his future. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a young man and asked what I was there for, at which time I explained the above. He told me to wait one minute, walked away and went in the back then returned and again asked me why I was there. I explained yet again, he then was unable to find my account and required me to locate it on my phone in order to give him my account number, which I did. He asked my son and I to take a seat, as there were no investment advisors available at the moment. After being seated for a few moments, he came over with a tablet and instructed us to use it to open the Roth account. We had to go to him multiple times to ask questions, which he really did not have the answers for. After my son and I finished opening the account on our own, I returned the tablet to him and went back to my seat. Ten minutes later he came over to me and stated that "they do not have advisors that handle 529 accounts" he attempted to hand me a business card and told me I would have to call the east coast office to discuss my 529. I asked how it possible that a Fidelity Investment branch does not have financial advisors to discuss my specific accounts, he stated "I don't know, I've only been here 3 weeks, but we don't handle 529's, 401k's and stuff like that, you have to call someone." I asked why didn't he explain this to us upon our arrival 30 minutes ago? We could have simply gone home and opened the Roth account on our own computer versus have our time wasted. The whole point was for us to speak with and advisor and have our questions answered about a 529 as well educate my 18 y/o son on a Roth account. His answere was "Sorry" and a look of annoyance. At that time we just left because it was obvious he had no clue what he was doing. Terrible experience and horrible customer service. I don't recommend anyone goes there for investment advice!"
