Reviews of Charles Schwab
"Ashley Cole. Never answers her phone or called me back directly. Can't believe it. Would recommend not going here."
"Rhonda McCline is a fantastic advisor at Schwab: competent, professional, caring, and knowledgeable. She always responds to both calls and emails in a timely fashion. I highly recommend her without any reservations whatsoever."
"About 5 serious mistakes since April when I called to inform them my account number could have been leaked in my employer's data breach. Manager told me on that date "we'll just change your account number." When I asked "will my debit card keep working?" I was told yes, so I didn't request a new one. I was told they were mailing checks, though. When my debit card stopped working (because they had moved all the money to a new account) I realized that I had to *request* a new debit card. I waited 4-6 weeks for the checks, which never arrived, and had to re-order them. Finally, today I switched all my many auto-debits to the new account, only to receive a letter, dated 9 days ago (why not email?), that I must apply for the new account -- and that meanwhile my account is, in various ways, "limited," "suspended," or removed of "authority." My girlfriend was strongly considering Schwab before this, because I'd said good things about it. Note, this review is not about Tucson's local office but Schwab in general, except for this: When I tried calling the local office to make an appointment to hand-deliver the suddenly-now-urgently-required account application tomorrow (since I can't afford for my account to remain frozen during a week's mail transit) I didn't get the local office but rather a call center rep in another state who said that she could get the Tucson office a message in 24-48 hours. I plan to walk in tomorrow and see if they can explain why my girlfriend should become a customer. I think they should offer each of us money for this: For me to stay after they wasted so many hours of my time, and for her to choose them over e.g. Fidelity or E*TRADE, both of which I've been with since the 1990s and which have never messed up my finances so much as Schwab has done."
"I really like doing business with this location. They are always helpful and professional. I do not use a broker or advisor. However, I do make deposits to my account. If you like me are self-directed and need help setting up an account, they will be cheerful and assist you. My account is with TD Ameritrade, which has been bought out by Charles Schwab. To there are what I believe are employees from both companies. Considering the help they have given me, I would recommend them."
"Today I went to a session regarding the use of options with my account. The session itself was ok. Before leaving I asked to meet with a Schwab representative to set up the ability to trade options through Schwab directly. The person I met with, Jeff, wasn't very welcoming and then directed me to fill out the forms online from home. He did not want to print them out for me to complete on the spot. By looking at the account (which he said he did), it's very apparent I did not have the on-line option "This account isn't eligible to apply online for options access. Download the paper form..." I have worked with other offices before and had much better service. At this point, I'm even thinking of moving my funds. I like the on-line platform but customer service from Schwab has been sorely lacking the last few years."
