"I've had success with Central Pet 6 years ago with my same dogs, but today's experience was disappointing. My husky did not pass her temperament test this morning, and my lasting impression is the testing staff did not understand behaviors common to the breed and benign or expected in my dog. I brought both my huskies (sisters), who are very attached to each other, to the test, and the more anxious one went first. She reportedly showed behaviors related to being apart from her sister, and did not pass. Had both my huskies been tested at the same time and same room, as I requested, I'm sure the one would have done better. This arrangement has worked for my dogs with dog daycares in Washington State, Minnesota, and Central Pet in 2018-19. As the staff member returned my husky to me, my other husky greeted her with a playful growl/greeting/contact common to the breed and fully expected. The staff member registered surprise and alarm, and asked me if that was concerning behavior. My impression was the staff member was unfamiliar with husky behaviors, and whatever the case, I decided Central Pet would not work out for either of my dogs. The outcome of the test is so at odds with my two huskies established behaviors and their other dog day care experiences that it's a blessing one of them did not pass Central Pet's temperament test and be further subjected to staff unfamiliar with expected benign husky behaviors."
"I looked for about a month before a colleague recommended Central Pet. So when I reached out to them I was really at the end of my rope and pretty skeptical. There was no way to avoid going out of town (for work). The woman who took my call was knowledgeable, thorough and put me at ease within minutes. The facility is fantastic, centrally located--yet a short distance off the main thoroughfare which adds an extra layer of security. And security here is optimal. There are cameras everywhere and if you get your doggo a Luxe room, you can watch them remotely. My senior dog was last "boarded" about 12-13 years ago at an animal shelter, until I adopted him. He's always been a panic attack dipped in espresso. The staff at Central Pet were so gentle and understanding with him. My Great Pyrenees mix has never been away from me for longer than 12 hours and of course has never been boarded. Well, both of my dogs went on a hunger strike and the staff tried everything they could to get them to eat and drink--and I mean EVERYTHING. I know this because Central Pet stayed in constant contact with me. My senior-problem-child caved for a can of fancy salmon dog food, but the Pyr still held out. So one of their staff (they are all saints) went out to the grocery store to get him goat's milk and salmon. Finally he gave in. I'm leaving a lot out--the staff did a lot of social work with both of them and devised clever ways to get them out of their rooms, etc. but the takeaway is this: When I went to pick them up, they came out calm and relatively stress-free, given the circumstances. Central Pet really saved the day and I couldn't be more grateful for these lovely people and this amazing business."
"Our tour provided by staff was nothing short of EXEMPLARY!! We were extremely satisfied with the resources available with numerous options offered for boarding visitors!! Logistical services were equally impressive!! There are also services available so you can keep track of your pet via camera coverage!! Looking forward to working with Pet Central!! Thank you Carlyle for the very informative tour!!"
"Central Pet has been great with my dogs. I have used them for boarding, grooming and daycare and can confidently say they are the best! Patty is great when it comes to trimming my dogs nails too. He is very finicky with his paws but she is so gental with him its never an issue. Highly recommend"
"Technicians are gentle and follow directions well. My dog is pretty fearful of grooming so has to be towel dry or low setting dryer- needs to have a gentle touch. Cost is around $70 since we request some extras and hypoallergenic shampoo, etc... Only do grooming so not sure about daycare. My pup is usually excited at the end so will keep coming back."
