John Hembry, DO

"I should really leave NO STARS for this guy. I was referred to Hembry by Banner Health to treat my thyroid and the pain in both knees. He is a podiatrist, but said he could handle my issues. Well, no. As a physical therapist, I have understood endocrinology since I was in high school and later in college, not Hembry. I had low thyroid and needed to stabilize these hormone levels before I could have surgery. This guy never quite understood dosing of levothyroxine, had no idea. We had to discuss dosing time and time again. He is a nice guy, but I am a patient and need the appropriate care, never received it. He went ahead and prescribed the wrong dose of thyroid hormone that could have sent me to the E.R., but I caught it. That is inexcusable! Talked to him on the phone about it and he just rolled right over it like it never happened. Also, Hembry does not understand that you need to schedule blood tests BEFORE the doctor's appointment..not AFTER! One visit he didn't schedule a follow up visit at all. He said, "you really don't want to see us again, do you." Do you want to hear that from your physician? All of the M.A.'s and receptionists need retraining by someone who knows patient care. These people are short and cold. They take your information so quickly that we, as patient's, are an inconvenience to them. After one visit, all of the women turned their backs to me as I left and said nothing. That is really bad. It is as if they were told to do that by some authority either inside the clinic or outside. Very strange to say the least. They are all pediatric care that work with babies all day and don't interact with adult patients much. Adults or babies, if this is the treatment patient's receive, then you can have it. Hembry could care less either way."

"I couldn’t get in with my regular doctor, so I saw Dr. Hembry today. His bedside manner was amazing and he treated me and really listened. I would definitely highly recommend him. And if I am unable to get an appointment with my other doctor, I would go see him again."
