"You are warned. This campus, the High School campus of LFPA is nothing like the K-6 campus. My children attended both. The K-6 was a delightful, caring and quality well balanced experience! However that does NOT carry over into the High School Campus, imo. They collect oodles of money for "dress down" days and you cannot see where all this money goes??! They could desperately use a safer ball court surface outside since they do not have one indoors for the High School. My son was hurt numerous times from unsupervised PE activities as well as mishaps due to the rough old fashioned asphalt pavement. And it chews through shoes. Communication with administrators or teachers is one sided and they will take matters into their hands without even a phone call to a parent. My son "survived" 2 years, as did my daughter. My daughter was never more depressed in her life than during her time at LFPA high school. Bullying is very common and character traits are not talked about. Teachers and staff turn blind eyes to the social issues on campus as long as their "shows go on" it is all about the production."
"This is the best school I have been to and they dont accept bullying which I'm glad about. But there is one thing that made it from 5 to now 3. The new Admin, they treat us like kids, don't get me wrong, I love the school, and I liked the new Vice Principal. It's just the way they treat us. Not a fan of that, if it is changed this coming school year, than I might bring it up back to 5 stars. I genuinely miss the old Principal, he was the best. His name was Mr. Villa. I wish he didn't leave the school. I haven't gotten on any of thier bad sides that I'm aware of. The best teachers we had there were Mr. Glaser (History), Ms. Mason (History), and Mrs. Hiner (History), Mr. Scott (Technical Theater AKA Stage Craft), and Mr. Anderson (IP Teacher I had)"
"My child attended this school from 7-9th grade, is a good student and consistently gets A’s and B’s In 8th grade she was assaulted by a boy that she was “dating” along with other girls. His parents were called and he was removed from the school. My daughter was left with extreme anxiety and told us about the situation in her 9th year as she was having panic issues. When we went up to the school and spoke to the new administration. We got nowhere. There were no records of this issue. We are outraged and can’t imagine the lack of transparency. They did not call me when my child was assaulted and gave the boys family the option to remove him. Not a safe place"
"I was a student here for my freshman, sophomore and half of my junior year. The staff was compassionate with what I was going through at the time of withdrawal, but I felt that the school focused more on their performing arts department than their actual curriculum. A few teachers (My history teacher and science teacher) were very thorough and skilled in what they were teaching, and made their students a priority, but it felt as if the rest of my teachers couldn’t care less."
"This is a great school. You won’t find another school where the teachers and staff genuinely care about your child. They make learning fun, the programs are fantastic. Drama, musical theater and dance performances are always over the top. Academically, we love it. My daughter can take extra courses online . She’s excited everyday to tell me about her day. That says a lot coming from a sophomore. She has attended LFPA since 6th grade. There are only two things that are drawbacks lunches, as my daughter says they are not tasty . Grades: no online portal to check grades."
