"I'm going into my 3rd year with this halau. Nalani is such a great teacher. I've learned more than hula, she teaches the Hawaiian language and creates a ohana environment. This group is professional on stage and everyone is treated like family."
"I danced years ago but went on a looooong hiatus. I had been watching this halau for years until I was finally able to get in gear and join. So unbelievably grateful I did. Everyone is so amazing and generous with support and kindness. Nalani radiates with so much aloha and it lights us all up."
"We have been so impressed with Hālau Ho'okahi I Ka Hula! If you are looking to learn true traditional Polynesian dance, this is the place to go. You will become part of an incredible family when you join! They teach not only traditional dance, but you also learn the language, culture and costume making. The instructor is professional and kind but maintains high expectations for her students, which results in quality beyond compare. We have learned so much and we love this hālau!"
"Our family has been a part of this group for 5 years. My daughter and son are both learning traditional Hula and Tahitian dance under the instruction of Nalani Francisco. She believes in teaching the traditional ways, exactly how she learned from her Kumu. Our kids are not only learning dance but they are also learning how to chat and sing in Hawaiian, in addition to weaving/making their own costumes in order to take pride in this beautiful culture. This Halau is all about unity and truly capturing what it means to represent Island dance here in arizona. This is what sets her and the group apart from other Halau’s. We are so grateful to have found Nalani and this Hula Ohana of ours!"
"We have been dancing for 3 years now and absolutely love it. I’m grateful for my daughter learning not only this beautiful dance but also the culture. We’ve met so many amazing families and cannot imagine life without hula."
