Reviews of Amy Clark, DO
"I have been seeing Dr. Amy Clark at TMC One as my primary care physician since July of 2021. In the first few visits I found her to be welcoming and thorough as I was suffering with chronic stomach issues that developed after my pregnancy in 2020 and trying to figure it out. Dr. Clark began dropping the ball just a few visits in, around her several medical leaves during the two+ years as my PCP. In early April of this year I attempted to get a referral to a gastroenterologist as my issues still had not been resolved. By mid May, I had not heard back so I sent a message via MyChart and was given a referral by substitute physician covering Clark. That experience was pretty awful and the endoscopy was canceled so I was back to finding a new GI specialist. Everything is a wait in the medical industry so now it was October, I called Clark’s office on two different occasions asking for a referral, I even had a name from word-of-mouth with no response. I sent Dr. Amy Clark another message via My Chart explaining the situation, my experience and need for a new referral and was met with agitation and argument but with the promise to “reiterate” my request. I had to call the office three more times before my request was finally processed. Unfortunately two weeks ago I developed Covid and though it was mild, I had an ER visit last Thursday (11/1) that lead to a pleurisy (inflammation of the lining around the lungs) diagnosis and a follow up visit needed with my PCP, Dr. Clark. That follow up visit was scheduled this morning at 8:40am. Now, I am aware of the *ten minute* grace period for appointments and I was indeed running a few minutes behind schedule. I attempted to call the office three times before getting through to a front desk staff member who told a me I would be seen as long as I came within the ten minute grace period. I arrived inside the doors and to the front desk at exactly 8:50a, and was turned away. I was told that I could wait around for an hour in hopes that her 10 am appointment would not show up and I could possibly have their slot. The lobby had two people waiting and there are multiple physicians at the TMC One location and I was in the ten minute grace period. I can’t help but feel like this was retaliation from our exchanges while I was advocating for my own health. I feel targeted. The lung inflammation is still here and Dr. Clark turned me away. I left in tears because I do not know what to do. I do not recommend her and will tell anyone who will listen to me, since she chooses not to. Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this."
"I have just established as a patient with Dr. Clark. I found her scheduling staff and office staff to be so helpful and friendly. In meeting with Dr. Clark I found a medical provider who is both knowledge and willing to listen to my concerns. She is thorough yet thoughtful in her approach. She embraces an approach to health and wellness that I feel is balanced with a holistic mindset."
"Dr. Amy Clark was the straw that broke the camels back for me. I wanted to establish her as my PCP and I unfortunately got sick before my appointment to establish the relationship. They did not want to see me for my originally planned appointment but I had to beg them to help me since I was very sick. Dr. Clark kept assuming I had COVID even though I had a negative PCR test from the University of Arizona. I asked her if she could atleast prescribe me a stronger inhaler. Normally when I get an upper respiratory infection or bronchitis I am given a stronger inhaler to help control my asthma. Dr. Clark said she would only give me a stronger inhaler if I did not have COVID. I thought this was ridiculous and unfair to refuse to help a patient feel more comfortable but whatever. I took another COVID test and it took an entire week for me to get the results after calling the office multiple times a day every day. Even when my second COVID test came back negative, Dr. Clark still did not prescribe me an inhaler and wrote in all my appointment notes that I had COVID. Even with 3 negative COVID results. Needless to say I did not establish her as my PCP. Ive read other reviews explaining that she doesn't listen or care about her patients, so I urge you to please find someone who genuinely cares about your well being. I have yet to want to build a relationship with a doctor since."
"One of the hardest things about moving to Tucson was leaving my doctor where I'm from. I looked at reviews and found Dr. Clark and I'm *so glad* I did. As a chronically ill person being able to talk to my doctor, know that they're paying attention, and know that they're going to be straightforward and honest with me is so important and Dr. Clark checks all my boxes. She has also never once mentioned my weight in a negative way and her office staff have been so accommodating about my anxiety surrounding being weighed at the office. As someone with a long history of severe eating disorders who's gained a lot of weight during covid it means the world that they take the time to listen to me without making a big deal about it. I have had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Clark and the office in general. I highly, highly recommend her!"
"Dr. Clark is a very straight forward doctor. I appreciate her expertise and how forthcoming her medical approach is. I can be myself and she handles my specific issues. Just a shout out, I appreciate you Dr. Clark."
