"I left my appointment yesterday with Dr. Ashraf in a complete panic attack. I am newly pregnant with my first child, and after consulting with my OBGYN, decided it was safest for my baby and me to stay on my SSRI. I informed Dr. Ashraf of this decision the day after it was made, and he immediately raised his voice, scolded me for not telling him about my pregnancy sooner (I just found out about a week ago and consulted my OB immediately), and proceeded to tell me he hopes my baby isn’t already “damaged” due to staying on the medication, but if it is then he will not be responsible because I didn’t tell him about the pregnancy and he recommends getting off the medication. What kind of medical professional would say that to a first time mother?? I would call it grossly negligent or extremely poor behavior to say the least. I consulted with my OB once more after the traumatic experience and was assured by her that my decision was completely safe, very common in her own practice, and what she recommends as an expert in her field. I will now be continuing my prescription through her. Safe to say I will NEVER be returning to Dr. Ashraf, and highly recommend the same for anyone reading this."
"Dr. Ashraf does not respect HIPAA in any way. I was at the office recently with a friend of mine, and he announced to the entire waiting area and staff about another patient's mental status and medications, and was demeaning as well. What a joke! I would not recommend him to anyone that is actually seeking help. Read the reviews! He obviously should not be practicing medicine."
"Staff gave me wrong spelling of doctors name three times, I finally found the correct spelling on my own and I can see why staff did that. This Dr. needs his license pulled and Sahara needs to be shut down. They got my husband hooked on Klonopin for 6 months then wants him to cold turkey with no help. Ashraf has been a no show for 3 months. WTH"
"Dr. Ashraf is extremely competent and a good family man. If you are wanting to be diagnosed in one sitting, this Dr. isn't necessarily for you. It is better to come in with an idea of what you have. He knows medication inside and out and that is what important to me, not paid empathy. I've recommended him to family and friends."
"I had a horrible experience with Dr. Ashraf. He made me feel as though I was bothering him because he was running behind on his appointments so rushed me out of his office to play catch up. When I left I had no answers and I had felt like I was at square one again. To top it off he said he wasn’t sure about my diagnosis but continued to prescribe something he wasn’t sure about, told me he couldn’t assess me in 30 min. But didn’t care to schedule something sooner to assess me. He talked down about the other doctor I was seeing. In other words how this man still has a job is unbeknownst to me. I asked to see another doctor mind you this was my 1st visit they said they don’t usually change providers but since this was the first visit maybe it could be done. 2 weeks later I get a message saying they can’t change providers. This place is a Joke. Be aware. It is your right as a patient to ask when your with your doctor who, what, when, where, why and how medicine will effect you why he or she came to the diagnosis Conclusion. No question is a stupid question Advocate for yourself. Because clearly this man will not."
