Reviews of Peg Leg Smith Historical Marker
"Peg leg used to be a great place to stay. The last few times I’ve been there It’s been too crowded. RVs parked too close to each other and since they put the restroom in traffic comes in and out of the project all night long to use the bathroom facilities. It is convenient to the mountains for hiking, Internet and phone service is terrible. I cannot recommend this place."
"This was a fun stop to make when in Borrego Springs. The wildflowers are nearby and you get to enjoy the view of the mountains."
"Spent 2 nights dry camping in our campervan. Limit to no tmobile cell service. Starlink wifi is excellent. Uneven gravel sites. Pit toilet onsite. Plenty on RV’s. Its safe and quiet at night."
"This is a Great Boondocking Campsite with plenty of room for parking semi-private DRY Camping. No water or dump facilities. There is a pit toilet that is maintained by the California State Parks Dept. The hiking of Coyote Mountain is fun, and the trails are well worn trails. Winter time is the best time to be here. You are limited to 30 calendar days of stay per year by California statues. The parking is unlevel and rocky in places."
"One of the stops on your Anza Barrego Desert State Park adventure! We came in from the Salton Sea from hwy 86 south to route S22 Barrego Salton Sea Way west and into the Anza Barrego Desert State Park. Along route 22 theres lots of geographic and scenic sites to see and Peg Leg Smith Historical Monument is a place to stop and enjoy the surrounding secenery! Great place for photos,IG's and enjoy! There are pit toilets and places to dry camp if you desire at no cost. Take Henderson Canyon Road to the famous Barrego Springs Serpent Sculpture and Galleta Meadows! Or you can also continue on Peg Leg Road south to Palm Canyon Drive west into the city of Barrego Springs. . . . . #peglegsmithhistoricalmonument #anzabarregodesertstatepark #desertlife #ocotillowells #barregosprings #californiadreamin #californiadreaming #waynesalvatti #photografxworldwide #saltonsea #galletameadows #barregospringserpentsculpture #californiastateparkcommision #californiastatehistoricallandmarks #seethedesert"
