"Do not book this venue without absolutely everything in writing. Initial meeting was held on 10-01. We agreed upon terms with this venue and Matthew and here is what happened in chronological order. My fiancee had asked for the contract ahead of time to review Matt told her he'd type it up and they would review it together Tour of the pavilion was conducted Matt agreed to 140 people Matt never said a word about masks Matt also showed us where the cigar bar would be placed At the conclusion of that meeting Matt promised to send the signed contract as soon as she left Matt also promised to get her the information on the required off duty police officer The $500 security deposit was paid in cash and in full which we have not asked for back The required 50% deposit of $1850 was made within a few days No contract was ever received No contact for officer was received 10-20-20 Asked about the plug amps for the DJ and never received a response 10-21-20 Asked again for the off duty police officer number and no response 11-03-20 Asked again for the off duty police officer number and no information given 11-06-20 Finally received name of officer and nothing more 12-07-20 Asked for our options if Covid didnt improve 12-08-20 Asked again for a signed copy of the contract-did not receive 12-08-20 Received an email saying he would scan contract that week and if Covid didnt improve we could reschedule up to 90 days out. Now mind you, my fiancee told him multiple times 99% of our guests are coming from out of state rescheduling is not an option 12-08-20 Asked if we could move to the smaller area which is the museum porch since he had mentioned previously he did this for another couple-No Response 01-29-21 Emailed Mathew again inquiring what are our options if Covid #'s done come down, I need the police officer still, NEVER got the contact, & did we have attendance restrictions? No Response 02-02-21 Finally got an email back and Matthew said there must of been a transmission error with the contact but he would send again that week. He also said they were limited to 50 people , he would check on the officer (WHICH I STILL DONT HAVE) & now they are not allowing our cigar bar. 02-02-21 Emailed Michael back pointed out we never agreed to 50 people and the why would they not let us have a cigar bar? 02-02-21 Emailed Matthew again and told him we shouldve been notified if they were changing OUR wedding. I did NOT GET one single email, phone call, etc 02-02-21 Emailed Matthew again and reiterated all above named concerns and asked AGAIN what our options were. 02-03-21 Matthew responded that he has shared all of this-which he NEVER did. I also pointed out to him repeatedly we never wouldve signed this. We would not pay that kind of money to host 50 people which we could do at our house for free. 02-03-21 Responded to Matthews email and explained HE is the one who said the cut off was 140 because above that a higher deposit was required. He NEVER said we had to wear masks outside. He never said 50 people. 02-03-21 Emailed Matthew again and asked if it was an option to move to the smaller section i.e. the museum steps-NO RESPONSE to our options if any 02-03-21 Asked Matthew AGAIN if he could move us to the steps and since its so much cheaper refund the overpayment-NO RESPONSE As you can see, we asked repeatedly how to make this work. They DO have another option he just wouldnt reply to if we could do the museum steps. It took us 3 months to get the contract and he lied about sending it. He even emailed at the end and said he would work on a full refund and to date NO further reply. It is NOT right to change OUR wedding without consulting us. Its unprofessional and dishonest. Had he called us and told us what was going on we wouldve asked him then for a refund. This is the LEAST PROFESSIONAL ENCOUNTER I HAVE EVER HAD!!"
