"This school has to be THE WORST school I have ever had my children in. It’s bad enough there are less than a classroom full of African American students in the entire school but to top it off the few that are there always seem to be the children in trouble/ targeted more often then none because they stand out more than others. They have a STEP system that is a complete joke children have to choose steps for the smallest of things. Oh and don’t let your child pull a STEP 4 because that requires a conference with the school to talk about why your child is in trouble in person for less than 5 minutes. That requires parents to stop their already hard day to discuss something that can be discussed over the phone. If you are not available to speak with the school/teacher on their time your child ends up being suspended until you have the time to come talk to them. How that’s a great quality of education????? I’m not sure at all. So as parents we have to risk our jobs to speak to the school in person when a simple phone call would still get their point across. God forbid you leave for work or are already at work before the school opens or even don’t get off until they are closed. You and your child are completely screwed.Since coming to this school my children have NEVER been in trouble so often as they have here. It’s always something with these people here, you blink to often your in trouble, you cough to much your in trouble, you ask a question your in trouble. Like come on now when does the education come into play with this school? I expected better but as usual arizona schools care more about discipline than education. The end of the school year isn’t coming fast enough, I cannot wait to get my children out of such a low quality education, focused on discipline, our way or no way school. People talk about Phoenix schools are horrible but they clearly haven’t been to this school. You guys should be ASHAMED of yourselves. I would NEVER recommend this school to anyone EVER. Way to go Collier Elementry staff!!!"
"I like the school but i have been bullyed and harassed so many times and the boy who did it he lied and he keeps on doin it. The principal and staff has do nothing about. That is what ticks me off"
"It's a clean schools regarding facilities. The education your child will receive is adequate, meets, but does not exceed, the required state minimum for public education."
"My daughter teaches 2nd grade at collier elementary. SHE LOVES IT!!!! her student/parent relationships are OUTSTANDING!!! we visited in april (2014) of her first year as visitors in the classroom..... WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!!! the kids were fun and excited to meet us (we wanted to visit longer with them) and the Staff were very nice and even took our picture with our daughter in the classroom....... she has a great rapport with staff and parents and challenges her students to learn and makes it LOOK EASY..... if only this school really knew how LUCKY they are to have her teaching their children...... Let my daughter teach your child how to UNLOCK THE WORLD..........."
"I think the way this school runs is absolutely horrible. The principal and staff were literally bullying my child. The first part of the year my child didn't get in trouble at all. Her teacher Mrs. Lines was fantastic. When she went on maternity leave and they brought in this long term sub Mrs. Brunke, things went horribly south. That's when I learned the principal has sub par morals. I caught her in several lies. (I have written proof.) Mrs. Brunke had singled my daughter out and in about 3 weeks my daughter (1st grade) was kicked out of class 9 times. Never once did the office staff bother to look into the situation. I called for a sit down meeting with the sub and the principal (nearly impossible to get) and the staff was so manipulative they kept trying to evade my questions and when I was able to point out the lies and my concerns they would try to change the subject. Needless to say I pulled my daughter out of this school. The district was also no help even though through emails we caught the Principal in lies more than once. Also, all they would do is defend the sub and put down the teaching methods of Mrs. Lines when under Mrs. Lines direction and teaching my daughters Gifted test score went from 32% to 87% in 1 semester. No one else at the school did that, just her teacher. Good job Mrs. Ashley Lines."
