"What a way to walk back into history. The park hosts were full of information and friendly. The teacher's contract was interesting and funny."
"Found this little place on our way to bisbee. It was all closed up because we were there on Wednesday but it was still very cool to check it out on our own"
"Very interesting historical site! We hiked up the hill to the cemetery (incredibly cool experience). All of the related sites are spread apart by a bit. Absolutely take WATER, stay on the paths, and watch for wildlife, including snakes. It's definitely worth the time, if you like history and exploring!"
"Wonderfully maintained by the BLM and their volunteer camp hosts. Historic ghost town near the banks of the San Pedro River. Freely walk around the old town grounds and imagine life there over 100 years ago. We took a hike out to the Fairbank cemetery and The Grand Central Mill site. Although we were there late December, a rattlesnake (when they are usually hibernating) made an appearance and gave us an appreciative warning! So pay attention to the warning signs. They're there for a reason. The old town of Fairbank is right off highway 82, so it's an easy stop and very worthwhile."
"Love the hiking trails in this area. Very well marked and there are some historical sites along the way. Explore the town of Fairbank and then travel over to the cemetery and mill. Ample parking in the main lot for RV’s and trailers. Drop off Points and handicap parking are available close to the town as well as restrooms. A great picnic area is available and place is well maintained, clean and family friendly. As always carry plenty of water and watch for venomous animals. Do be back by sunset as the staff will lock you in! They do have someone on the site to release you but you will have to go back to the historic town and request the gate be opened. Just be out before sunset and life will be less stressful for all. UPDATE: Did the loop and found it to be family friendly and easy. Some great views. Do not let kids and pets get close to the steep river banks as they can be unstable. I did step over a gopher snake so as always stay aware of your surroundings!"
