"Used to be a nice school now filled with terrible kids, constant theft, and assistant principals that can’t return phone calls about their students. Disappointed about the theft problem because a sister shouldn’t have to replace almost all of her brothers belongings because other students have sticky fingers. The need for cameras at this school is rising. Also lots of accidents in the parking lot, of course all open cases because nobody takes responsibility and there isn’t cameras or enough monitors for the size of the campus."
"I have read some of these other reviews and have never experienced anything like it. My son has been attending Ironwood Ridge for three years. He came from a private school and was very welcomed by the students. He is involved in baseball, student government and loves attending Ironwood Ridge. The teacher's were very welcoming and staff has always been polite and helpful. I would highly recommend this school."
"I have one child that went to this school. She tried to join some clubs as a freshmen and was told no because of never doing it before, but others were allowed. There is an atmosphere of entitlement and superiority. Very little diversity. The staff turns a blind eye when a student struggles or get bullied. The administration staff lacks problem resolution skills and care more about how the schools is perceived than the students future or guidance. The admin staff tells you what you want to hear, but at the end of the day the child is not put first. They are more annoyed by the extra paper work than the problem at hand. There seems to be a serious drug problem as well. The problem stems from letting the kids control the school and lack of structure from the staff. It's a great place if you want your child to feel judged and offered drugs. On a positive note the campus is new and clean. The algebra and biology teachers are amazing as are most of the teachers. My child loved her teachers and looked forward to her classes."
"Ironwood is an amazing school! the academics are really great. while some teachers are nit picky about some things they really do want the best for your future and i could see that from the start.. Ironwood has a lot of spirit and i have not seen a single person get victimized because of "Not having spirit"."
"I have one child that we had go to this school briefly. While some of the teacher's seemed to be excellent, a lot of the problems stemmed from extra curricular programs. My child tried participating in both band and culinary and both instructors were incredibly rude people. The students from this school have incredible school spirit. My daughter has never wanted to be a part of that kind of movement. She just never felt compelled to do spirit days and such. Unfortunately, the student government and a lot of other students really picked on her for it. I personally don't think name calling should be used for not participating. It wasn't a great environment and the admin said that there was "nothing wrong with having school spirit". They obviously don't have the student's best interest at heart. The administration wasn't a lot of help to us as it seemed this whole faculty and staff was deeply tangled in politics. My daughter is also half black. She inherited a lot of beautiful traits from her mother. Unfortunately, some of the faculty came off as racist towards her and that is something I absolutely won't stand for. It makes me absolutely sick. Again, some of her teachers were wonderful, but a lot of childish behavior was displayed. Since then news reports have come out about the racism in this school's sports teams and the administration actually monitoring students on social media! Not to mention all the teachers sleeping with students! This school is absolutely absurd."
