"My 5 year old daughter has been in the boxing class 3 times a week for going on 3 months and the whole thing is amazing, firm but respectful coaches. Good Core mechanics. And reasonably priced for what your child gets! Will refer everyone we know."
"Great instructors, new place, great atmosphere. The only thing that I would like to change it is that they need to provide different levels for each class. So the kids can lean at their own pace."
"I've been taking my son here for a few months now. I took him to his first day as a trial, it was free, to see how we like it, how the kid likes it. After the first day I asked my son if he wanted to keep coming there and he said yes. Since then we've been going at minimum 3-4 days a week. Since being at YTT, my son has improved IMMENSELY in a very short amount of time. The classes are big and there is usually only 1 instructor, or 2, but they do a great job managing the class and getting the kids attention. They also don't coddle them, which I like. That's what us parents are there for. They use the terms they would with adults, which I also like. I feel like in the future that will help the kids as adults. I think a couple of the negative reviews were from parents who didn't stay long enough to see how the program works and how much the kids actually advance. I was unsure of it myself at first, which is why I waited to write a review until I've been there a few months. The coaches are fair. They make sure the kids get corrected. They don't always get around to all the kids but they do make time to correct them as a whole. They have ample time for practice and the coaches take time out between classes if the kids ask to help them with strikes or kicks. Which I think is awesome. I'll continue bringing my son to YTT. He loves it, he's staying active, he's learning how to defend himself and most importantly he's always having fun there."
"We brought 2 of our 3 children there for the free drop in to try it out. We first went to the BJJ but realized it wasn’t going to be a good fit and decided to come back an hour later for the karate class. Both class sizes were way too large for the size of space and the age range was ridiculous, 5yr olds in the same exact class as 12yr olds is not ideal by any means. At the karate class there was 34 children all ranging in the same age range again and 2 or 3 instructors (it was hard to tell). There was not enough room for all these kids in the space and during their waiting in line and doing drills one child who was about 7/8 punched my son in the face and gave him a black eye. Literally minutes after the class started and not one instructor noticed. My daughter did and pulled him off the mat and to us. I don’t really blame the kid because kids do that stuff especially in a setting they know that’s what comes next but that’s a prime example as to why there should be proper class sizes to avoid things like that from happening. We left immediately and although it seems like it could be a nice place they just aren’t a conducive space for young children to safely and properly learn martial arts so we will not go back."
