"American Pacific Transportation is unlicensed to do business in the state of California. They delivered 37 of my 72 boxes and told me to file a claim. To file, you need to list each item, its original and replacement cost, weight but you cannot save the file. If each box had 20 items, I would need to list those details for 740 items WITHOUT SAVING. When I read the reviews for the company where you need to file a claim agains American Pacific, it was clear that the company was a scam. In one review, the customer filed a claim for $8000. They received $72. None of 10 attorneys have responded to my 1-page summary of the disaster. There is no hope for consumers. Are you moving? Rent a moving truck and move your stuff yourself! I wish I had!"
"Refused to load anything in truck until I signed there paperwork, assumedly to void the contract I signed with the brokerage that hired them. Did not take all of my belongings, which required another crew to come and get my stuff, which delayed my move by 5 days, so I had to stay in a house with no furniture to sleep on. Someone on the first pickup crew stole a large jar with a little over $100 in it. And one crew member kept trying to chat up with my 16 year old daughter. Took over 4 months to deliver items to me and I still have several missing items. Made two deliveries and demanded payment in full to find out another load of my belonging were taken off the trucks that had delivered. Several boxes smashed or had nails stuck into the boxes, but only boxes that said "Fragile" on them. Several broken items in these boxes, most irreplaceable. Have been waiting for someone to call me back from the emails, and messages I have left for them, to discuss the missing items. Not professional, Not responsive. You will be better off avoiding this company. This is the very short version of my review as my full story of my experience was to long for the amount of characters allowed here. They really need to add a 0 star rating on these review sites."
"Absolutely the worst moving company. Don’t use... read on if you want, but main point just don’t use. Don’t. Moved from San Diego to Houston. My first available delivery date was Feb 5 2021. It’s April 28th and they don’t even have a guess at when I will get my belongings. I never received any updates / contact from them, even within the “guaranteed” delivery time frame. They guarantee delivery within 21-30 business days. Only way I hear from them is if I call them and have to fight them for any information. I’ve called countless times and each time it’s just a blatant “we don’t have an update for you.” When I ask to speak to a manager or supervisor, I’m told there are none. When I ask to speak directly to dispatch, I can’t because “they’re gone for the day” even when I’ve called right when the business opens. I attempted to ask for money back or taken off the final payment, and they said they’re unable to change how much they charge me. What? You’re the ones who make the prices?! Said I could file a claim for the delay, but they dont know how long the claim would take or if I would receive any money back, even though it’s taken longer than their guarantee. I also cannot file a claim until I receive my shipment. They offered to expedite, but apparently if you expedite, you have to pay in full before they ship it and then you have to unload the shipment yourself. But, you still have to pay full price despite not getting the service you agreed too. And no info about the third party company they use to expedite. So, I’ve lived without any of my things (mattress included), for three months now. I’ve had to pay lots of money to sub for the things that I shipped, might as well have just refurnished the house and let them keep my stuff. Don’t use this company. I’m absolutely reporting and disputing this. Tried putting half a star but couldn’t"
"The company has had my items over the maximum amount of time for delivery. We booked through a broker (my mistake I guess). They are blaming the length of time on COVID, but they signed the contact over 2 months ago when all of this was going on. They knew when they picked up my belongings that they did not have a driver. Unacceptable. We have called multiple times and were told we would get a call back. They never called and followed up. We had to continue to follow up. Excuse after excuse and now telling us it will be possibly another 2 weeks before they even get a driver - then 5-7 after that. We have been unable to move into our home because of there overt delays and poor service. You read their mission statement about them wanting to provide a seamless move and how the founder dealt with many bad moves before. That is the exact service we have received. Poor moving experience. Hopefully WHEN/IF our things arrive they all arrive. Will update then."
"I’m not one to leave bad reviews but my experience with this company was a mess from the start. I booked them through a broker which was possibly a mistake. Because of this, my quote was way higher than I was given, and there have been a myriad of communication issues. I was told someone would contact me 24 hrs before my movers arrived (I gave them a 48 hour window). Instead, I was called at 10 AM saying my movers would be at my place around 4-6 PM that same day. Because of this, I ended up having to put more on the truck than intended due to the last minute mixup, which raised my original quote by almost $800. I called earlier in the day to let the company know I would have more stuff, and it was not communicated to the movers. I was given a small discount for this inconvenience, which I am grateful for, but even still, the movers had to call their boss every 10 minutes to confirm all my new stuff and tack on new fees. The movers didn’t arrive until 6:45 PM and didn’t leave until 11 PM, which is the longest I’ve ever experienced movers packing up just one bedroom worth of stuff. After, I was told to contact someone 5-7 days before I wanted my stuff released from storage to ensure it got to me on time. I did that and was then told it could take up to 21 BUSINESS days for me to get my stuff. I’ve called every week and no one has had any update for me other than “we don’t have a driver who wants to drive your stuff to you because of COVID.” It’s been 15 business days and I’ve been given nothing but silence. I understand the pandemic is wreaking havoc on small businesses and I empathize but if I would have known my stuff would be sitting collecting dust, potentially being damaged, for a full month because no one “wants” to drive, I would have rented a UHaul myself and saved the trouble. I’ve done a cross country move before and have never experienced this kind of lack of communication or extremely long wait. The owner also seems to air our customers’ private phone calls/emails in effort to make them look bad in any negative reviews which tells me all I need to know about the ethics of this company. I wouldn’t recommend American Pacific if you’re looking for a timely, reliable moving company. I’ve experienced nothing but miscommunication and delays."
