However, he is one of the few psychiatric providers accepting patients. It took about a month to get a "new patient" appointment. His receptionist is very kind, professional and organized. Unlike most psychiatry appointments, he is interested in a full set of vital signs. He keeps an on-time schedule. I arrived early for my second appointment and he began our session 15 minutes early. In my experience, that is unheard of. He was an excellent advocate against the insurance company when they refused to cover a prescribed medication. He is personable and has a good sense of humor. He is has a no-nonsense approach to psychiatry and is thorough with his assessments. If you are looking for a blank prescription pad, go elsewhere. If you are searching for a quality psychiatrist who genuinely cares for his patients, then I would recommend Dr. Streitfeld."
