About the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge Admin Building And Visitor Contact Station
The Kofa National Wildlife Refuge Admin Building and Visitor Contact Station, located in Yuma, Arizona, is a park and tourist attraction that offers visitors a chance to disconnect from the stresses of daily life and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the desert landscape. Established in 1939 for the protection of desert bighorn sheep, the refuge covers over 80 percent wilderness, providing ample opportunities for outdoor recreation and wildlife observation.
Visitors can explore the vast lands of the refuge and appreciate the diverse range of animal life that calls the desert home, from badgers and foxes to ground squirrels and kangaroo rats. The refuge's management practices are aimed at ensuring a balanced conservation approach that benefits both wildlife and people, with a focus on passive management practices to preserve the wilderness.
The Kofa National Wildlife Refuge works with others to conserve and protect fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats for the benefit of the American people. While the refuge does not guarantee compliance with Accessibility Requirements, it offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature and experience the beauty of the desert landscape.

Reviews of Kofa National Wildlife Refuge Admin Building And Visitor Contact Station
"Good place to gather info for the three wildlife refuges in southwest Arizona. This is the visors center... not the actual refuge areas! The actual areas are about 45 minutes north of Yuma. You can gather info on KofA, Imperial, and Cibola. They also have pamphlets outside of the building in case the center is closed. The center has "bankers" hours; M-F 8:00 a.m - 4:30 p.m. There are volunteers that man the front desk. They're very nice and helpful as they can be. The admin staff is very nice as well. Good place to visit before heading to the wilderness. The website also has info in case there are no pamphlets outside."
"I've been bicycling Kofa NWR during the winter for several years. Amazing, majestic, quiet and remote. Dig it."
"Beautiful peaceful drive through the park. I only saw 2 trucks and they were hauling water. If the gate says closed it means its closed. I drove for a couple hours down the single track trails in a mid size truck taking pictures along the way. Took my time, a couple hours. End of the line, gate closed. Had to turn around. It was fun and I didnt mind. Let some air out of your tires. Lots of sharp rocks."
"Beautiful view and wonderful experience!"
