"It makes me sad to give this rating. Dr. Puca was the most supportive doctor for so long. But he abruptly dropped me as a patient the same day as he was told by my neurologist that I had a CFL leak and needed to have an immediate blood patch. I was not even told. He told me as his patient that he would keep all my records in one place so I would never be denied ssdi again from incomplete records. After being dropped I found out records had not been sent as requested since 2017. My medications are being denied, my accommodations for benefits are being denied, my doctors are struggling to help keep my ssdi and section. 8 voucher because my records are missing, after all his promises. I can't even get his office to send a copy of my records to social security for my medical review. For several years referrals were delayed, tests delayed, labs delayed, records not sent, and they said it was mistakes but his office refuses to provide my records, knowing no other records exist elsewhere, and refusing to provide a full copy of my chart including outside records like he always promised to me. Please be warned. His wife is on disability. But he did this to me, he can do this to you. Do not trust him. If you are disabled, copy every record, and do not make him your advocate. He will not advocate your records you provide him, or your best interest. He will be concerned how advocating for you will impact him. But he will not tell you this. For years this man made me think he was my friend, a supporter, an advocate and I am absolutely devistated. It made no sense. I kept trusting him, when evidence showed he was not advocating for me, but to drop a high needs patient. I kept thinking he meant everything he said. And all he did, was take my permission to advocate for me, and document so he would not get in trouble and follow his lawyers advise. He absolutely screwed my life over. My housing environment caused the CFL leak, but he delayed testing so long, I wasn't diagnosed in time. He also delayed paperwork for 4 months. He dropped me mid leak with very rare diseases and no one with records to treat me properly and I endured a stroke. He did not send the referrals so I couldn't be seen before my housing voucher expired and I'm currently homeless. I requested my records, and he has purposely held back all the records I provided him, records and tests outside places provided, and it caused the specialist who reviewed my case to deny me, not enough records. I'm going to lose my ssdi from this. It is absolutely cruel."
"Dr. Puca has been my Primary physician for 23 years now. He is outstanding and amazing. Everone I suggested that they go and see him, have all contacted me aftrworks with high praise and flowers! It is almost impossible to find a fair physician, let alone an excellent one. If you need help, go see this Doc. You will be hooked."
"Edited from my original rave review - Five stars for the doctor, zero stars for the practical nurse. My husband and I started seeing Dr. Puca after he was highly recommended by a friend. I first saw the Practical Nurse, Dottie, whose bedside manner was fantastic. I have a rather lengthy, complicated health history [including kidney stones, which is relevant later] and didn't feel rushed; best of all, the practice is about integrative health, so I got a positive reaction to my discussing the alternative methods I'm using for some of my health issues. I strongly recommended this practice to anyone who wants the feel of what I would call a "traditional" doctor: not medically, but in terms of someone who has more than 10 minutes per patient, listens really well, and doesn’t patronize or act like they’re God just because they're doctors. Edit: I don’t know if Dottie is still there, but I had an absolute nightmare of an experience with her a year or so after writing the first review. I’d been to Urgent Care for a bad respiratory infection, been x-rayed, then sent to a lung specialist for a follow up for nodules that were seen on the x-ray. At my next physical with Dottie I mentioned this, as well as the fact that I was having pretty severe lower back pain on one side. I soon had to get another x-ray and then later a CT scan, because they were still trying to figure out what the nodules were (not Valley Fever.) Dottie was sent a copy of the CT, and I got called to come in to talk about it. I was already seeing an acupuncturist, a chiropractor and a physical therapist twice a week EACH for the back pain, and didn’t want to come in unless there was new information. *I was told there wasn’t.* I spent the next three months only being able to survive by using a Tens unit (electrical stimulation for the pain) all day, every day, then I discovered I had a massive kidney stone—*and Dottie knew about it*, because **it had been reported on my CT scan!!** Remember that she already knew I had history of kidney stones when had I told her back in January that I was having bad back pain. I ended up suffering horribly for months and spending thousands of dollars on useless treatments *because she didn’t think it was necessary to tell me about the “new information” on my CT scan*. I did continue to see Dr Puca after that until we had to switch to an insurance that doesn’t cover him, but I refused to deal with her ever again."
"I’ve been seeing Dr Puca for over 3 years and he is wonderful. One of the most caring people and doctors I’ve met. I feel so fortunate to have him caring for me. I’m a very complicated patient, even outside of his area of expertise. And he’s still willing to treat me as he learns and educated himself about my many progressive, incurable and rare diseases. He’s worth the wait which happens at every appointment, because he gives his patients the time it takes, and doesn’t rush them through in 10 mins like other doctors."
"Dr. Puca is simply an amazing clinician. Not only is he up to date on guidelines, but he has excellent bedside manners. In fact, I'm a physician myself and I can say without any hesitation that I wish Dr. Puca would teach medical students. Medical students and physicians like myself can certainly learn a lot from his medical knowledge and excellent bedside manners. His patients are indeed very lucky to have him. Dr Puca took care of my mother and she is VERY happy and feels luck to have him as her PCP. My only regret is that the maximum I can rate is 5 stars. He deserves 10 stars at least."
