Dr. Shahla Ighani, MD

"I'm leaving this review in hopes that it may help another woman. I have seen Dr. Shahla for a year. At the beginning Dr. Shahla Was lovely And very helpful. I was in the emergency for heavy bleeding. The ER found a tumor. I never had a tumor before so of course I was Concerned and scared. I got an appointment with Dr. Shahla asap. She came in the room for a total of 10 minutes told me it's normal to have a tumor in your uterus and they sometimes go away on their own. I tried to tell her about my family history and she told me "We aren't going to worry about that right now". She never looked at the Ultra sound either. I told my family what happen and they where upset and requests i get a second opinion. I got a second opinion thank God. And my new obgyn is taking it very serious and I'm getting the help I needed. Please get a second opinion if you are treated like this. It can save your life."

"I have been going to Ironwood OBGYN for about 17 years. When my original doctor retired a few years ago, I was disappointed that I would need a new practitioner. I stuck with Ironwood and have been very happy with Dr. Ighani. She has been a consistently knowledgeable and helpful resource for my obgyn needs, and completely and quickly resolved an issue that arose. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, too."

"I have never met someone so incompetent as “Doctor” Shahla Ighani. For someone who sees women all day she sure does not care about the general overall health of a woman. She wanted to know nothing. Asked me no questions. I let her know that I am deficient in B vitamins and she refused to run lab work to check them. After asking her multiple times and explaining that I’m deficient, she revealed that she is too lazy because she will have to go look up which codes for the blood work because “there are too many.” Ighani also refused to check my vitamin D saying “everyone is deficient just take a pill.” Completely inappropriate to say and she should never be saying that to anyone planning to get pregnant or who might be pregnant. I let her know that my endocrinologist just left their practice so I’m in the middle of finding a new endocrinologist. It was hard to get her to agree to run simple thyroid bloodwork. Eventually she agreed to run basic thyroid and D, but not B. She continuously told me that I need to have a primary care physician. It is MY choice and she shouldn’t be so condescending and rude. She had zero questions for me about my health, my medical history, trying to get pregnant, etc. Ighani wouldn’t even let me speak and she continually interrupted me. Worst bedside manner I’ve ever experienced. During my well woman exam she told me the speculum was going in right AS she did it, no warning. 10/19/2022 the website linked isn’t working correctly on mobile. Original review: When scheduling this appointment awhile back I was on hold for 30 min! Not a single person answered or put me on hold or told me it would be a little longer. The one star instead of zero (if it were possible) is for the phlebotomist. He did a good job and I was called back quickly."

"I have been a patient of Dr. Ighani's for almost 15 years and would never think about leaving. She is knowledgeable and caring and her staff is always friendly and attentive. I would 10/10 recommend this office and them having delivered my 11 year old- daughter, I can only hope this office and staff is around for her future needs!"
