"I've had a few service calls for my appliances, 2 for my fridge on different times and issues, and one for my washer. The second call with my fridge we opted to replace it, they provided me with a cash out option so I took it and it ended up covering half for the new fridge, a $2k fridge. The other repair was for my washer, the tech that came out had to order the parts. It took about 2 weeks to get both my new fridge and my washer fixed. One thing to understand is that this is not an on-demand service, it's warranty, if you ever dealt with insurance or warranty of any sort, first its an inspection, then review, final is repair or replace. If you want a now service then call a service company, you'll pay no less than what this warranty cost in one year, for the one on demand service call, but you'll get things fixed same day. So pick your apples, you want right now service, then pay the now service from all the service companies you see around, can the repair wait a little? Then reach out to your warranty , it's a process, but you'll be taken care of, follow up, and be patient. So far, I've saved more money having them than not. Thank you to the team at Platinum!"
"Please beware. Worst warranty experience ever. Every single time I have spoken with customer service they are very unpleasant and combative from the beginning. Simple questions such as "since you require your servicemen (cannot chose your own) to come diagnose and repair can you assure these are quality companies? Replied: "No, we just go with who is lowest cost to us and on our agreed list". Wow. They are extremely creative in all ways not to cover repairs after they charge $75 trips. They denied our broken pool pump until they got our old home inspection report in case it states broken prior. Then they denied because the report did NOT list anything about the pool (we could not afford it during inspection) so either way they will deny. They also will say if it is broken in more than one way "that will just have to be 2 separate orders" and charges. The 1st thing out of their mouth is all the ways they can deny you: DO NOT USE THEM! Charged us $225 total to come look at things broken and other servicemen say need repair and denied all."
"I've been a Platinum customer for years but will not be renewing. You think you're covered when you're appliance fails but you're not. Read the contract details carefully and realize how many ways they have to deny your claim. Not worth the annual cost. Also, be aware that you're on the hook for the $75 service fee, even if they later deny your claim and all the technician did was show up and take a picture. They don't tell you what's covered and what's not when you call with a problem and they could be transparent with the customer when the claim is initiated. It also took a week for them to reply back that my claim was denied (you'll be left waiting with a broken appliance in the meantime). Worthless warranty unless you have the perfect scenario that they are forced to cover."
"I have used Platinum for YEARS on a number of rental properties I've owned for the last 10 years. At the very beginning I found them to be very responsive & really good. In subsequent years, I have had to fight with them a LITTLE from time to time, but nothing I would call major. My latest issue with them is with a heater in one of my properties. The tech came out almost 2 weeks ago & identified the part that needed to be installed. It has been 'on order' with no date. They are quick to call when they want to renew me. Not so much when I need service. Customer service is horrifying. You can never talk to anybody with authority or is in charge. As someone else said, RUN, don't walk. I'll be moving my policies as they expire."

The technicians arrive promptly and were courteous while they performed their work. They found a low capacitor and replaced it. Peace of mind for the upcoming winter season and El Nino."
