Dobbins Lookout

"Me and my son were staying at a friends house in Laveen and he took us here, to show us the views (specifically the sunset) and surrounding area. The drive up to the location was a delight, with all the cactus and different colours of the rocks, as the sun changed its height. The roads were quite windy and congested, as obviously, everyone else had the same idea but we still made it up there with time to spare. The views were amazing and my friend said that when less people were about due to 'covid' the sky was less polluted, so the views were even better. I would definitely recommend this location, not just to see the views but also the immediate area on the way up! There are a few parking spaces on the route up but they were all taken when we went, as it was nearing sunset."

"Dobbins Lookout View Point An absolutely amazing place! The view is breathtaking, and what's even better is that it's conveniently close to the city. The experience of being there is truly something special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a scenic escape near the city."

"Really enjoyed the drive up. Wasn't too congested, views were phenomenal and cannot be done justice with cellphone cameras- the depth of the beautiful visual experience is lost in translation lbvs. If you are traveling here, i don't think you'll regret including this in your itinerary...."

"Dobbins Lookout provides a view of Phoenix and it's surrounding towns, home to millions of people in the valley. There is no admission to the lookout and ample parking. There are trails that can be hiked to reach the lookout, but we took the winding narrow road to the top. I was grateful to be the driver so I didn't get carsick. There were vendors selling jewelry, clothing, and snacks on the sidewalk on the edge of the parking lot. The restrooms put out a rank smell, which was blown by the breeze at the top of the mountain. And lots and lots of people all in one spot, a very touristy location. I appreciated the permanent compass pointing to various destinations around the country. I'm sure the view of the sunset from up there is incredible. We didn't make it though because we had a flight to catch."

"First sight seeing stop we made right off the plane. Recommended to us by the wonderful waitress we had at IHOP. It was free and the view was beautiful, reminded me a lot of Lookout Mountain back home in Colorado. Windy, tight road can be anxiety inducing for some people especially with other drivers wanting to go fast. But there was plenty of parking up top and also seemed relatively handicap accessible which is a huge bonus. Plenty of side stops off the road if you prefer to be around less people."
