"This is a great golf course. It is a Phoenix city course and is in great condition. Fast true greens. Very reasonably priced for todays golf prices in Phoenix. Most other comparable courses are at least double the price if not more. Golf shop staff are very friendly. Lisa is amazing. You can’t go wrong playing Aguila but hard to get winter tee times. Very popular course"
"I really like this course! I just wish it was closer to our house. (We live in Chandler.) Anyway, the course is in great shape and the staff is extremely friendly! The views of the mountains is also nice!! I highly recommend it!!"
"First time going here. It was last minute and pretty late, so we got on the par 3 nine hole course (walking). It was pretty inexpensive, less than twenty dollars. It's a small course but it was fun and challenging. Very well kept. It wasn't too crowded, so we weren't held up on any hole. They also have an 18 hole and driving range, didn't inquire on the prices. I'll be sure to book tee time for 18 hole to try it out. Nice scenery with South mountain in the back a"
"Set in South Phoenix, Aguila meanders through the desert with views of South Mountain from many holes. Great practice facility that faces South which might be tough for some (me included) to see the ball as you will be hitting into the sun in the winter months - at least part of the day. Nice Chipping and one of the best putting greens in the valley with views of 9, 18 and the golf shop/clubhouse. The course starts out kind of tame - typical of Gary Panks designed courses, with a very generous landing area off the tee. On the day we played the fairways weren't cut too low, but I never had a problem with a lie - the greens are fantastic, holding high shots but running out if you don't put a lot of spin. They are large and slightly undulating - I kept wanting to play more break than I should have. I am pretty sure the mountain has no effect on putting but I could be wrong - which may be why I had two 3-putts and missed every putt outside of two feet except two! Par 3s are fun and go in different directions - I feel like Gary Panks did a real nice job on Aguila - first time playing for me and it was a nice walk - although I found out I am out of shape and was really tired after 18. Par 5s are where you should be able to score - we played Silver (6450 or so) and most of them were around 500 yards. I feel like I had 175-190 yards in on four of the Par 4s - I only took a 3-wood and hit it about 250 yards. Some of the Par 4s had really good length and the ball wasn't rolling out a ton as some. If you can hit it just a little further than me there are a few holes that you will benefit from hitting the speed slot and getting some downhill roll. I was pleasantly surprised about how good the course was - if this was in Scottsdale and had a hotel attached it would have easily been $200 today. Staff was really nice - we didn't stop in the grill to eat after golf as my guys had to get going. The setting from the grill is fantastic - I will be back and make time to stop for something to eat next time. Thanks for letting me review and play your course - kudos to the maintenance team! RB"
