"At the free parking area at Pintail Slough I have had federal wildlife officers come up to me while I am in my van in broad daylight and ask me what I am doing there. They also ask me if I am camping there...AT 11:00a.m. in the morning! Fortunately after I tell them I am just resting awhile before I go to work later in the day, they leave. But honestly people should be able to park there in daylight hours without having to worry about armed law enforcement coming up to them for questioning. If they don't want people parking there, they should put up a damn NO PARKING sign...otherwise, leave the citizens alone."
"We like this place for a boondooking experience. Reason #1 It has plenty of room to park, and other RVS are far enough away that you have privacy. #2 The sunrise and sunset are beautiful and peaceful. A great way to wake up and end your day. #3 The hikes, there are miles and miles of hills to roam. There are tons of quartz rocks to look at, and it's a good way to get out and work your legs. Lol is usually much needed after many miles on the road. You can see the bridge and river from here. The only thing that may be a drawback to some is the road noise. If you go back far enough down the gravel path to the back of the spots, you won't hear it."
"Typically, this is one of my favorite places to go to get away from everyone and everything. Honestly, this place is usually a five-star, quiet place. Unfortunately, the seasonal "snowbirds," i.e. people who travel here during the winter and destroy our beautiful lake and its wildlife, always find some way to ruin our beloved paradise. For example, they like to come here to drain their pools, knowing perfectly well that we have a gorgeous lake. Not to mention, all of the garbage and pollution they just LOVE to leave behind. All of which tend to drain our lake and ruin its eco-systems. It would be amazing if people actually showed some respect and appreciation for our amazing city."
"Such and awesome place to vacation with friends and family! Also it’s a very beautiful place to chill and catch some rays and enjoy a few drinks and de stress from all of life’s daily grinds! Will definitely be back soon for more relaxation and to capture more photos and most importantly that extreme drone footage!"
"An isolated place on the lower Colorado River in AZ and CA. Very quite and peaceful. Good for boating and Bird watching. It preserves habitat for bighorn sheep to the endangered birds and other animals. The refuge protects 30 river miles - 300 miles (480 km) of shoreline."
