"I lived here for about a year and had 3 different leasing agents. I've experienced a number of security issues with my door randomly getting unlocked when I'm not in town(with security telling me they can't help and to call non emergency police), packages worth $$$ going missing and leasing agents claiming it's absolutely not here just for UPS to say it is then ~suddenly~ they find it(this happened atleast 5 times), neighbors cars being broken into in the garage(with no help from leasing office), underground garage flooding with chlorinated water and even a homeless person living inside the back stairwell at one point. The newest agent, Marianna, let an ex-boyfriend up to my apartment with just my name and apartment number when he is not allowed around me. The first month I was living here they tried to charge me $$$ because they didn't communicate with APS and even though the account was in my name and I paid utilities, they did too so they were trying to charge me for utilities twice and an admin fee. It took me having conversations with people in corporate(who actually understand how business works) to get them to clear it off. The only positive thing I have to say about this place is the maintenance crew. The maintenance man and his team are quick, diligent and friendly. If you're living alone or are just looking for a more private and secure location... 12/10 do NOT recommend."
"My partner and I moved into the McKinley early September because we felt it was the prefect place downtown that fit our needs. After the negative experience we had with our previous place of living we felt refreshed when given the tour. Unfortunately when we moved in we realized the floors are very thin and could hear our upstairs neighbor every time they walked around their Apartment. So much so that every morning at about 5:30-6am they are up, and we are up with them, Startled by heavy footsteps every morning (including weekends). I did bring it to the offices attention that it was a concern and they said there wasn’t much they could do if it was just everyday living. I wrote a very kind and respectful note my neighbor asking if they could keep us in mind when going about their everyday living and they were very sweet about it but it still continues. Hopefully it gets better. But I wouldn’t recommend moving here unless you’re moving to the top floor or even the first because there’s concrete between the first and second floor. Noise pollution is construction from out side, which isn’t as bad and is very tolerable. This is just a result of the build of the apartment if they had used concrete between the floors it wouldn’t be an issue. Update: things were better for a few months. They’ve since gotten worse, a wine glass fell from my shelf that’s how hard they walk around their apartment. We are just waiting for the lease to be up at this point."
"Great location and very friendly leasing and maintenance staff. Energy efficient appliances and windows which provide savings on your APS bill. What you should know that I didn't when I first moved in. Along with your rent you will pay a shared trash and electric bill for the interior of the building outside of your apartment. That cost, taxes and misc expenses add $150-200 to your rent bill. Limited garage parking so a space isn't guaranteed unless you pay for it. The pool is very basic and only 3ft deep. That said, the building is beautiful inside, friendly neighbors and only 5 floors. I've just signed my 3rd lease renewal so I like living here."
"Overall, I'm very happy here, and the pros outweigh the cons! Pros: Management seems on top of just about everything, and Brian the maintenance man is just spectacular. The location is great, the building is clean, the amenities are nice, the apartments are luxurious, and unlike some other reviewers, I've never even heard my neighbors (but I know they exist!). The bike rooms are a great place to keep your bikes, and the package locker is a nice touch for receiving packages. Cons: The parking garage is undersized, and if I come home after 6 or 7, I might not get a spot and will need to park on the street - it's not a huge problem, but it's super annoying sometimes. If you forget your key fob, you could be trapped in the basement parking garage or stuck outside. I wish there was a way to buzz guests onto the elevator, rather than just letting them into the lobby. The elevators are SLOW and sometimes the north elevator doesn't work. Construction noise is annoying, but that's not the building's fault."
