"Easily the best housing in the entire military. They care so much and make living in middle of nowhere Arizona more then bearable!"
"Don't get me wrong, MCV is some of the best the Army has (most housing on army bases are run into the ground). They had decent workers/staff, and everyone was very kind and helpful (still are to this day). My BIGGEST complaint, though, was towards my family's transition out. Amongst the many issues I was already experiencing, the workers who had come to complete a final inspection were extremely rude. My family had gone through a lot over the past few months, and they seemed to just rub it in my face. They made many comments (which I'm sure were not appropriate for the situation and some in spanish). I understand that we had a lot still in the house, but this was our first and last time going through this type of transition. Like I said, this is less about the MVC as a whole and more about the maintenance workers. Additionally, during our time here, we noticed many other "inconveniences" with local neighbors. We had one neighbor who (I'm almost 100% certain) had multiple dogs and also smoked weed. They eventually moved out, but it almost seemed like MVC didn't do anything or care about this. Their dogs would constantly bark, and no one did a thing (despite their 2 pet policy)."
"Not bad. MVC. Not bad at all. Only reason o can think of fir it to Not be 5 stars would simply be the paper walls. At least they still hold back the wind unlike countless other housing companies do."
"This is the best Army housing we have every lived in (and we've lived in A LOT of Army housing). My house has 10 foot ceilings, arched doorways, and skylights throughout. It's so bright and cheery. Maintenance is always quick to respond. We have orders to Fort Campbell, but I wish we could stay here. The housing office at Fort Campbell is slow and incompetent. Makes me realize how great I have it here."
"Don't rent here if you're a single officer here for school. Just go stay off post. They put you in the E1-E6 housing where you're paying more for rent than others around you but you're a second class citizen because you don't have a wife and kids with you. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. In my application, during my phone calls, and in my emails to this place before PCS'ing here, I told them I have 2 dogs and they promised me a fenced in back yard, many many times. Even after I double checked with my E7-O8 housing specialist who verified that I indeed would have a fenced in back yard. In December 2016 I got to Huachuca to do my inspection and sign my lease. They tell me the house isn't ready for move in yet, no big deal, I'll wait another day. So I have to stay at a friend's place an extra day. I go there the next day to do the inspection and sign the lease. They tell me it's still not ready and won't be til the end of the day. Not that big of a deal til what she tells me next. Because of the hours they work, my inspection will occur after she is off work, so I needed to sign my lease now with her promise that she'll shred it if I call back and say I don't like it. If I don't sign it, I can't move in til the following Tuesday because of a holiday weekend and my movers are supposed to come Monday. So I'm basically forced into signing this lease before seeing the house with this company I now VERY MUCH distrust unless I can go find somewhere else to live on a Friday of a holiday weekend at 3 pm... so I signed it, reluctantly, then a couple hours later showed up to do the inspection and surprise surprise, no fence. And the "back yard" (a 20 x 30 patch of dirt and weeds) is COVERED in weeds and thorns that I am pulling out of my dogs' paws DAILY! It's despicable. They tell me that there are NO MORE HOUSES ON POST they could move me in to like I'm a freaking idiot and would believe something like that when I have 3 friends who were about to move on post the week after me... I know damn well, that because I'm a single soldier, they just don't want to move me in to the nice(er) houses; those are reserved for people with wives and kids who are with them. And they tell me it will be two weeks until they can install the fence. That's an issue for me, but again, I'm pretty much stuck here being robbed by this criminals. So 4 weeks later, the fence is having the final touches put on it (I now have the ugliest fence on all of huachuca, I'll put it in the pics). But it didn't stop there. It is February. My heat has gone out twice. I called and brought the issue to their attention 2 weeks ago. It has now been two weeks and I've had no heat. At night, it's gotten in the 50's in my house. 4 days ago I got the phone call (this Wednesday) saying the part was in to replace it but they wouldn't be able to make it to my house to replace the part until the following Monday.... so I'm going all weekend with no heat. When my friends heat went out on this post, his was fixed in 3 days. But he has a wife so he counts as a real person. Meanwhile I get to wear a full set of clothes to bed under two blankets and make sure I tuck in my poor pups for two weeks straight. In short, if you're single, keep looking, you get treated like garbage. Probably works out a little better if you have a family, but save yourself the trouble and just find a place in Sierra vista. Desert shadows area is pretty nice."
