Reviews of Icon on Park
"TOO MANY PROBLEMS with this apartment complex and the management. The flyer outside the gate says “24-7 maintenance” but they take two weeks to fix a simple problem. There are multiple lights out in this complex which makes it extremely hard to see at night and I am afraid every night that my car will be broken into. There is a stray cat problem every night I hear cats in heat outside of my window. There is a homeless camp problems near the outside wall and desert. The homeless make their way into the complex and raid the garbage cans. You can see this in broad daylight, and especially at night time when it’s pitch black outside because management doesn’t fix the lights. The management spent money on repaving the roads which was a NIGHTMARE for a whole week. They forced everyone in the complex to park on one side. Terrible decision making. The parking lot did not need to get paved. That money could’ve been spent elsewhere like INSIDE the apartments and buildings. inside the restrooms SMELL like sewer! The air from the pipes comes up constantly and fills the whole apartment with this disgusting odor. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, my main issue with this complex and this management is their problem with ROACHES. My goodness I’ve lived in multiple apartments and none of them had a problem like Icon on park!!! Absolutely INFESTED AND RIDICULOUS YOU WILL HAVE PEOPLE PAY TO LIVE IN THIS CONDITION! ITS AN INFESTATION AND A HEALTH HAZARD!!! For months and months the exterminators would come and spray, and lay traps, and spray, and “fumigate” and NONE worked. The management told me when I first moved in and when I first complained about the roaches day 1 of moving in, that THEY HAD NEVER SEEN ANY ROACHES IN THEIR COMPLEX AND THAT I MUSTVE BROUGHT THEM. But according to these reviews, and my first hand experience I beg to differ! These apartments should be SHUT DOWN and DEMOLISHED! Management you are as disgusting and the roach infestation you have! And it is UNLAWFUL to have people pay to live in such conditions! DO NOT MOVE HERE DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE! THERE IS ROACHES AND THEY WILL BLAME YOU AND THE ROACHES WILL NEVER GO AWAY! FIND ANOTHER HOME!"
"TL'DR: Management is more concerned about cosmetic appearances to justify raising rent than quality of living or complex security. With rent prices coming down, it's not worth what it's charging. GOOD: My unit (1br/1ba) is very well laid out and cute, I actually like it a lot. The patio was very nice, when the groundskeepers weren't blowing all the dirt from the parking lot onto it and letting me come home to it completely trashed (see pics). You have a walk in pantry in the kitchen and a large closet in the bedroom. The bathroom is also spacious, although the water heater is in the bathroom so you don't actually have a bathroom closet like the 3D model suggests. The brown wood-like flooring is SO much nicer than the gray. Units are decently soundproof; I almost never heard my neighbors. The regular maintenance people are super courteous and professional. BAD: Terrible place to live if you work a graveyard shift. Ice cream trucks and leaf blowers. Amenities all have limited hours, which means they're crowded. The pool and hot tub were closed the first 8 months after I moved in. The laundry room is filthy. It's cheaper and cleaner to go to a laundromat. They take a long time to fix things. The lock box on the outgoing mail was STILL broken when I moved out. They stopped closing the gates at night about 6 months ago; since then cars have been getting broken into and stolen left and right. They also tow cars aggressively but only for expired tags. There are so many trashed vehicles along the back wall that homeless people from the camp next door are lowkey sleeping in theirs back there ... and you can't really tell unless you watch them drive in late at night. There's a large homeless camp in the desert next door, which the property management can't control but they walk through the complex to rummage through the dumpsters. Sometimes they're high and aggressive, especially late at night. I ran someone off ~2am who was setting the dumpster on fire and they pulled a knife on me. Also if you leave your front door open, they will walk up to your unit and ask for things. IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. The pests, OMFG. Sweet mother of Christ! I have NEVER had such a problem with both mice and roaches. They live in the walls. Whenever I mopped, I'd find my floor crawling with them drinking up the water. All the pest control people did was put sticky traps out. That's how I discovered the roaches! Other neighbors informed me that the whole building was infested and that management hadn't done anything about it despite repeated pest control requests. Management no longer provides notices in Spanish. Toward the end I was having to translate for my neighbors, such as the notice that their cars would be towed if they didn't move them when they redid the black top. A lot of this complex is Spanish speakers, NOT COOL. WATCH OUT: Destiny provided a move-in estimate and lease that were inaccurate. She provided a moving estimate that did not have the pet rent included, and the lease included an additional $13/mo charge for insurance. When I told her to remove the insurance charge because I had my own insurance (with proof), she balked and insisted that they simply wouldn't charge me for it because it wasn't on the estimate. (My lease did charge me pet rent despite the estimate). Lol, just no. She also used phone calls to convey information such as the unit I had initially applied for wasn't actually available and offered a less desirable one. I was informed the large holding fee I'd paid would not be refunded because I was technically approved for an apartment there. I agreed because of the time crunch and I couldn't afford to pay another large application/holding fee elsewhere. In the end, I regretted it. They also double-dipped on cleaning charges. They charged me a "redecorating fee" for "fixing damages left by the tenant before" me AND took money out of my security deposit for shampooing the carpet in what was otherwise an immaculate apartment. Seriously, this place was a complete piece of work. Save yourself the trouble!"
"Way over priced!! My ac unit kept going out, and it took them calling two different 3rd party companies two different times for both of them to say my unit was too old to be fixed to finally replace it. And it went out again!! When I called for a portable unit or for them to come look at it because it is an emergency they said that no one is on call to look at emergency situations. The roaches are also another reason why this place is way over priced. I feel like I’m not ever taken seriously when I have a maintenance issue because I am a single woman. When I initially told them about my ac not working the maintenance man implied it was because I didn’t know how to use the thermostat. This place has potential and office staff are seemingly helpful for the most part."
"I’ve been very happy with all the improvements that management has done on the property. I’ve lived here for 5 years and finally looking forward to signing another renewal! We now have a beautiful pool where my grandchildren can enjoy this coming summer with new beautiful pool furniture. The exterior paint made a complete difference and I’m so happy to call this my home. The new office staff has been so wonderful. Jessica the new manager is always so sweet and helpful, she really accommodate me when my heater went out. Karina the assistant manager always greets me with a beautiful smile and is always ready to take my work orders down. Eddie the maintenance guy is always available and takes care of my service request. The office staff was so helpful with my transfer into my newly upgraded apartment! I love the new appliances and all the upgrades. Thank you to all the staff!"
