"My daughter and I love coming here for Toddler Tuesdays which in my opinion is much more cost efficient than paying for an overpriced art class. All of their staff is super helpful and nice. We’re officially hooked on painting ceramics!!"
"I visited this location for the first time yesterday to purchase a gift card for Valentine's Day. I had never been there, so I had a few basic questions about how the process worked. The woman who helped me was named Lisa. The store looks lovely, however Lisa's service and attitude were terrible. She answered my questions condescendingly, as if she assumed I must be stupid for not already knowing. When I inquired about store hours (which I did as a courtesy- because I would assume they would prefer customers didn't show up to begin painting something right before they close), she said "Well we're in the mall, so we're open mall hours. Do you know what those are?" in a tone an adult would use with a tone deaf two year old. I had already mentioned that I work in the mall, so to inquire if I knew what hours the mall is open was not needed. It would be like me asking if she knew her own street address. I purchased a gift card despite her incredibly rude service. However when I later read the reviews and saw that she was the owner, and read the way she responds to reviews in terms of how she speaks about her staff, I returned the gift card. Zero interest in spending my money at a business where the owner treats customers and staff like they're idiots. If you can't give people an opportunity to show their intelligence before you assume they're incompetent, you'll forever be disappointed, and don't deserve the financial support of your community. Shame too. We had money to burn."
"I had a great experience when I took my 2 grandchildren there to pick out and paint Christmas gifts for their mom and dad. It was our 2nd time painting ceramics projects from the studio. Mom and Dad were thrilled with what the kiddos painted for them. We also painted pumpkins for halloween that turned out great! Give Lisa and her staff a try. You will be glad you did. My grandchildren and I made these cool snow globes for the holiday season with supplies from Color Me Mine. The kids loved making them."
"Went in for the first time recently and was impressed by the shop but not the staff. I waited patiently for 30 minutes just to receive paint, then each time I needed more, it was about a ten minute wait- each time I tried to catch the staff's eye they quickly looked away like they were too busy, or just blatantly walked past. I was tempted to get up and get the paint myself. The other issue I had was that there was no charisma or charm to the staff. They all seemed frazzled and stressed. The atmosphere in the place wasn't hostile, but I almost felt unwanted- like a burden. There seems to be a hidden fee too. I was told there was a studio fee and then the price for the pieces- that's fine. I picked my peices, then paid (decided to pay first, you can pay after). After I was done painting I showed the employee my receipt and was told there was another fee- something which wasn't vocalized at the beginning. So I paid the studio fee, the price of the peices, then some final fee. My issue is that the staff should be trained to notify you of all fees before hand- not pop out a secret one at the end when you've paid before even painting. Edit- it was Saturday, December 2."
"I love this place and have been going for years. I wish the second location was still open but I still travel across town with my friends and/or kiddo to paint something fun to keep. I normally pick a coffee cup and paint the inside more than the outside because I am no artist. My kiddo pucked a large dragon statue and my friend painted a soup bowl. My one complaint is the staff at this particular time were immature and rude. Not for the entire experience but enough it was noticeable and we no longer wanted their assistance. At one point my friend was in the middle of a project and using a specific paint when she was asked to let another customer use and return it. When she asked for the paint color back she was told the other customer was still using it. She had to change the design of her project and pick a new color scheme. I will say this is the only time I've ever had a negative experience so I'll take it with a grain of salt."
