Reviews of The Homestead At Boulder City
"We just moved my mom into the Homestead at Boulder City. This was a big decision for her family and we were all apprehensive. I was so pleasantly surprised when we arrived to move her in (my siblings had already toured the place, but I live out of state and my first viewing was on move in day). The building is so clean, accessible, her apartment is just perfect for her and she has given me glowing reports daily (especially on the lunches, apparently the chef is fabulous!). I am so grateful that my sister recommended we move her here, and everyone we encountered was absolutely lovely! I think that Don and Julie are doing an amazing job managing this building after it has turned into independent living. Thank you both!"
"This Senior living community is currently going through some changes. I toured it twice and loved it each time and have friends planning to sell their homes to move there. (I definitely would but I have a 17-yr old grandson living with me and can't)!! The apartments are clean, very cute, inexpensive and a great place for active seniors who travel or like to be out and about with a wonderful home to return to that's safe and quiet. It's pet friendly!! Lunches are an added bonus and the choice of lunch in the dining room or no meals can help with budgets. Hopefully, Julie, will stay as the new Director, as she has many ideas to promote and improve this affordable, hidden gem in beautiful Boulder City. Highly recommend it!"
"I so appreciate the wonderful staff at the Homestead. My mom was there for 8 1/2 years. As the years went by, she needed more and more assistance. By the time covid changed our lives, she needed lots of help and she got it. There are so many people in the facility who are patient and kind to the residence. I could rest easily, knowing my mom was getting great care. Thank you staff!!!"
"Today (9/25/19). Went on a tour with my mother. We we greeted by Daniel (new administrator) and Pam (marketing and admissions) both so nice and professional. Had lunch with Bertha (nurse). Food was so good. Lunch crew was so accommodating and friendly. They have a salon on the premises which is so convenient. Wonderful, homey environment where all the residents seemed so happy. My mother really loved this place!"
"I am currently an employee with today being my last day. When I first started, everything seemed great. But I started noticing people leaving. Being that there's a high turn over, I've witnessed 4-5 girls leave in the three weeks I've been there. Red flag much?.. And I get it...they over work you and are going to implement a red dot system where you have no choice but to stay. I have a conflicting schedule where I can't because I have no one to watch my two year old and was told to figure it out at my orientation. Now that my last day is today, they are trying to withhold my my last check until next payroll, regardless of what the Nevada laws are which stated that someone has to be paid whichever is closer, in a week or next payroll. I am moving to another state and won't be able to pick it up most likely. I asked if I can have it mailed to my parents and was told that they didn't know if that was possible. To me that is an indication that they aren't going to pay me for the days I worked after the last pay period. Now last but not least. I was called a derogatory racial name (honky) by a black co worker and when I talked to magoli, she had the nerve to ask me what provoked her to call me that. Now I think we all know if I called a co worker the N Word, I would have been suspended or better yet, fired! There would have been now asking ( what provoked it) so if you want to work for a horrendous place, this is the best choice for you! And finally, a resident is now leaving the facility all thanks to me telling her daughter about her mother is not getting changed at night and nocturnal shift is ignoring all calls in memory care and assisted living. I accidentally brought a pager home with me that pages us when a resident need anything, and from 10-6 am calls were not being acknowledged. The night shift is incompetent, lazy, and entitled. If they can keep you there until 11pm for you to do their job, they will so they don't have to work. I was also told by a co worker that stayed until 2 in the morning that nocturnal shift was ignoring calls as well. I would bring you loved ones in at your own risk because management doesn't seem to care since the same night crew is still there neglecting residents. I wouldn't even give this place 1 star."
