"What an absolutely horrible practice. Dr. Crooks will only see you for an initial consultation, and after that, only if you’re on your way to an expensive procedure. Even when things aren’t going well, he will refuse to discuss your treatment plan - not even to explore further information about expensive procedures that he himself recommended to you. Instead, his office refused to let me see my own doctor (per his policy), and left me to his absolutely awful NP (Emma Dambi), who was rude, unhelpful, and condescending. She was so terrible in fact that I had to end my appointment early. Stay far, far away from this practice - they care far more about taking patients’ money for expensive procedures than they do about making your pain better. Edited to add: they’ll try to tell you that Dr. Crooks oversees the work of his NP, which is simply not the case. Ms. Dan I admitted he wasn’t even in the building on the day of my appointment, and it became immediately clear that my NP was in no position to speak intelligently about treatment options."
"Jessica Byrd is a wonderful practitioner, her bed side matters are wonderful been knowing Jessica for about six or seven years she has been taking care of me. Well dealing with all aspect of my pain. I love her.she is awesome"

"Background: I spent the better part of this year after two spinal injections and PT to get back to having a somewhat normal activity level. I travel for work and was asked to fly internationally in January which requires 17 hours of travel. My work will accommodate a higher class seat via medical exceptions. I reached out to Pinnacle asking their front desk if I could speak to or send Jessica a message on if getting a medical exception from Pinnacle/Jessica was possible. The front desk told me that they spoke to Jessica and I had to come in for a visit because it had been too long since my last visit in April. Fine. Booked an appt. This whole process took over two days to even get finalized. I met with Jessica yesterday who started out by saying "I've never written something like this before." I explained the situation and she refused and very sternly. I explained that I have done two other international trips this year (9 hours max flying in coach seats) and it caused pain and muscle spasms but was manageable. I don't want to fly 17 hours and undo everything I worked so hard this year to get back to normal. Again, very sternly refused and said those seats are very expensive. Fine, not asking Pinnacle to pay for the seat. She then said there was no evidence on my MRI that would justify me not being able to sit in a coach seat for 17 hours despite all my previous visits which lead to injections which one of my complains was not being able to sit for prolonged periods of time. I have degenerative disc disorder which she agreed but said "not that bad." She also said that we could do another round of injections when I get back from my trip to treat any issues. That's the whole point, I don't want to do another round of injections. This was meant to be preventative. So she's more worried about the cost of the ticket which Pinnacle wouldn't pay to begin with but had no problem putting me up for another treatment requiring out of pocket costs for the patient. I honestly felt like I was being interrogated and treated like I was addict asking for pain medication. Conversation was 10 min tops. I asked if we could have done this over the phone or messaging to which she replied yes. When I confronted her about the front desk asking her if we could do the conversation that way she said that wasn't true and the front desk never spoke to me. So total waste of my time and now I have to pay for an office visit which wasn't needed. I will not be returning to this provider given the lack of professional high-level empathetic quality of care."
"Had a procedure scheduled for last week, got to the surgery center to find out pinnacle cancelled it. According to Mike in the front office, he said insurance didn't approve it but would find out why for me. This is bizarre as I've always had my insurance approve of my injections. I waited till the end of the day and decided to call back. A lady answered the phone and put me on hold for about 15 minutes, at this point I assumed I was forgotten and hung up to call back. When I called back it took me straight to voice-mail, the office was closed. So I can only assume that I was put on hold and everyone left for the day, fantastic. I have still not heard anything from the front office since, nothing about the insurance denial, no rescheduling, nothing. I've called multiple times to try and get answers and reschedule, I only get a voice-mail on the other end. So either the company has gone under and shut down, or there is a severe lack of communication in the front office. I'd like to be clear that this isn't a reflection on Dr Crooks or the PA Emma(they are wonderful), but a reflection of how the front office handles patients. I'm beyond upset and now have worsened pain because of the gross negligence that's taken place over all of this."
