"He was extremely dismissive of my symptoms and the lab work I came to him with. He barely let me get a word in on my symptoms and seemed to have a preconceived idea that nothing was wrong with me. He begrudgingly ordered more lab work that, surprise surprise, showed the exact reasons I came to see him and indicated more issues, but I never went to my follow up appt. I found a new Dr who validated my results and actually treated me appropriately."

"I had been waiting for nearly two weeks to see this doctor. Unfortunately, calling their office proved to be futile as they never answered the phone. Instead, I was required to leave a message and wait for a call back. Although this wasn't my primary concern, it did set the tone for what I was about to experience. Upon arriving at the office, the receptionist was pleasant and assisted me with checking in. However, during my visit, when the doctor finally entered the room, I felt as though he simply asked what was wrong with me and what medications I was currently taking. To my disappointment, he proceeded to criticize my primary care doctor for prescribing the medication, implying incompetence on their part. This behavior struck me as highly unprofessional. Furthermore, he displayed a lack of interest in listening to my concerns or waiting for the results of my other medical reports. Overall, I left the appointment feeling that it was a complete waste of time and money. I could have easily obtained the same information over the phone without the need for an in-person visit. To make matters worse, as soon as he finished speaking, the doctor swiftly exited the room with his laptop, leaving me feeling disheartened by the whole experience. It's disheartening to witness this kind of practice, especially considering that people's lives are at stake. If our bodies were simply textbooks, we could rely on Google for answers instead of seeking medical professionals. I strongly encourage others to read additional reviews before considering this doctor, as the experiences shared are truly unbelievable. Personally, I have no intention of returning to this practice. Thankfully, I decided to seek another doctor, and I was pleasantly surprised. I walked into their office and explained my previous experience, and they were able to schedule an appointment for the following day. It's reassuring to know that there are competent and compassionate healthcare providers out there. Even when faced with disappointment, I believe that there is always a silver lining, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to find better care."

"He honestly deserves negative stars. I didn't want to believe the negative reviews. He rushed in and wouldn't let me get a word in. He had a pre conceived idea of what was wrong and wouldn't listen to anything that opposed that. He was insistent that I just had anxiety and even mentioned referring anti anxiety meds after asking 3 separate times if I had anxiety (to which I replied no each time). I've seen many doctors over the years, but never have I been treated so poorly. I thought doctors were supposed to learn bedside manners. I suppose he skipped that step in med school. It seems like he only wants new patient appointments because the way he acts doesn't make anyone want to come back in. Also, why do his hours say that he should be open, but the doors are locked and the lights are off when I try to enter? All of this is just so messed up."

"I have been under Dr. Shakir’s care for many years now and I have always been satisfied with his quality of care. When I first began consulting him, my health was not at its best and he has helped control my symptoms over the years. I could not be more thankful for his expertise. I would highly recommend Dr. Shakir and his staff for anyone seeking a rheumatologist in the valley."

"If I could give this a negative star I would. Where do I begin? The 30 minute wait? The Dr coming in rushed and asking me why I was there?? I asked him what the records show as I was referred here. He replied that he hasn't read the records. WHAT?? At that point, my husband, in the health care industry, got up and walked out. He also said never his his 20 years has a GI dr referred someone to him. Really? He said he doesn't even know what the medical term was that my GI dr used. He then proceeded to look at blood work from a month ago when I had updated records on my phone. He didn't want to look at those though. He literally did no work on my history and is uneducated. Why not call the referring dr?? Why not do your work prior to the patient arrival?? Is he really performing as a dr or just doing the bare minimum for insurance money?? Not today. I demanded my copay back and recommend to NEVER give him a moment of your time as he doesn't respect yours!"
