"The best thing about this practice is the PT Anthony Veglia. I saw him for dizziness related to Meniere's Disease and Epstein Barr. Over a series of 3 appointments, he gave me a number of exercises that mostly resolved my dizziness. In addition, he gave me tons of information about Meniere's and reason to be optimistic. He's clearly passionate about his profession and seems to truly enjoy helping his patients."
"BEWARE! This practice exclusively sends all of their nose cultures to MicroGen DX which is very expensive, not covered by all insurance companies and DEFINITELY NOT AETNA - MicroGen even calls this out on their website. I wasn’t told that they use MicroGen at my first visit, I would have immediately stopped them, I’m well aware of health insurance companies’ positioning on this company (Another major health insurer is my customer and I checked with them - Nope!) My insurer is Aetna who absolutely refuses to pay anything from MicroGen. I received a $600.00 invoice yesterday. Today I called to cancel my appointments, and to tell them that they need to clearly communicate to patients that they use MicroGen, which is not normally covered by health insurance. The office manager Cami King wasn’t available either time I called, but told the poor front end employee standard “blah blah” language that ignores this practice’s horrible treatment of their patients. I have reported this practice to Aetna and also to MicroGen, suggesting that they cut them off as a business partner until they have a contract written in blood that they will communicate to all patients the situation they are placed it by using MicroGen. From MicroGen’s website: “We strive to maintain quality care and customer service which includes keeping you informed of our procedures. While many insurances provide coverage for the services we provide, others do not, or may require a higher out of pocket cost. To ensure that patients are aware of this, your physician should have explained and requested that you sign the bottom of our lab requisition. This consent outlines the potential dollar impact to the yourself, eliminating unexpected bills or insurance denials potentially resulting in delays with your results.”"
"My primary care doctor recommended Dr. MacKechnie and Valley ENT. I was very impressed with everyone's efficiency from making the appointment, online forms, appointment reminder, to the check in process. Hearing test was a little uncomfortable but the technician made the time pleasant. Dr. MacKechnie was very professional and thorough while being personable. She listened and answered questions regarding my balance problems and prescribed the right medication for my ears as a past ENT Dr. had not and I've had this for a while. I appreciate being at ease. Staff was on top of one of the scripts as she called around to find it at a different nearby pharmacy - way to go the extra mile!!!! Great job all."
"On 5/20/2019 I took our son into Valley ENT (8752 East Via De Commercio, Suite 1 Scottsdale, Arizona 85258) for fluid in his ears as a late result of an ear infection. When we showed up for appointment I was unexpectedly informed that they needed to take $350 from me just in case insurance didn’t cover the visit. I agreed since I was almost certain we would be reimbursed and we wanted medical advisement on his ear condition. Went into see a young doctor who appears to no longer be at the practice. She quickly recommended ear tubes for our five year old and we were to have a followup visit in a few weeks. Our family pediatrician had always said he was too old for tubes, luckily we had an annual visit scheduled with him before we were to go back. Nevertheless, the fluid drained on its own a day later after I rubbed oregano oil on his ears. I cancelled the follow up visit and waited for the $350 refund. I went into see our family Pediatrician-he was actually my husbands pediatrician; needless to say we trust him. I told him the story and he chuckled. He said with or without my tincture the fluid was going to come out. He confirmed he would never put tubes our sons ears. I followed up with Valley ENT after the pediatric visit inquiring about the refund. Connected to a person in finance that picked up the phone said ‘who sent you over to me?!” Needless to say the rest of the conversation was very uncomfortable and she told me I was on a list and could keep checking. That has been the tone of my conversations for the last several months. I continued to call the finance office every week or two and then went directly back to the practice. Most times I called their was a condescending voice on the other end telling me the person I last spoke with was unavailable and I could keep calling back. Finally in late October 2019, Luci(y) in Finance informed me that they submitted claim incorrectly in May and she was going to resubmit and would be following up in a couple days. About 14 days later on 11/12/2019 I called the main office directly again and spoke to Cami King, Office Manager-she said this time she was going to help me and I would no longer have to speak with anyone else. She mentioned the re-submission in October and would put a note to check it everyday. On 11/14 Cami called me and said (with that common condescending tone) that "I wasn’t going to like the news she had for me”-she stated “ I’m not sure what happened but we resubmitted the claim and your insurance rejected because it is outside the 60 day window. That said we can give you back $150" After some back and forth with her on how unethical their business is and that this was their mistake and responsibility and that they should be incurring the repercussions of their internal error; I have since started the process working around them completely and not waste additional time and energy. My husband on the other hand wanted to give them another chance to “make it right” and has reached out to Cami multiple times over last few days- he has been told she was unavailable, told their phone lines aren’t working and has gotten hung up on. We have the same notice they surely received from our insurance company stating that claim was submitted late and we/member has $0 liability."
"We had the most amazing experience at Valley ENT- Scottsdale! The office staff was very polite, and the facility is very neat, clean and organized. We saw Dr. Heiland for our 11 month old son for having several ear infections. He was so incredibly nice, and gave me a lot of very helpful information and tips for our little man. He was genuinely interested and we didn't feel rushed through like most doctor's offices.Everybody was very accommodating in helping us through what I thought would be a nightmare of a visit with our young child. I'm very impressed and so pleased that we went! Thank you!"
