Reviews of Mayo Clinic Building SCT-1
"For an organization that says it is proud of the quality of its care, and which charges accordingly, they have absolutely the worst blood lab I've ever seen. As bad as it was 2 months ago, it is even worse now. Whoever manages this debacle should be fired. Now. We were told yesterday the wait would be an hour from the appointment time and to go to the next appointment on our list and come back. We were back in 30 minutes but only then did they put us in the queue. And hour and 15 minutes later we still hadn't been called. We left. At least 2 of the 3 or 4 phlebotomists were acting very inappropriately, like a night at the comedy club while at least 50 people were waiting. The check-in staff is not the least bit helpful but I suppose they can't be blamed much. They must be sick of it, too. To make matters worse, the schedulers don't consider the ridiculous wait times so patients' choices are to sit there and miss other appointments or to keep those appointments and blow off the blood work. The problem with that though is that Mayo refuses to let patients have blood work done somewhere else. To be clear...this is not a walk-in lab. It is by appointment only and by 10 a.m. or earlier the back-up and wait times are horrible. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for this self-created mess. The management should be kicked to the curb and, until this is fixed, scheduling should be adjusted accordingly. I can't believe whoever leads the scheduling group hasn't done so already. That's probably another manager who should be sent packing. Last but not least, if you don't have a big nest egg, go someplace else. Unlike most other clinics, they do not accept Insurance providers' standard payments. Another visit or two and we will have to start paying our balance by credit card and then paying outrageous interest on that balance."
"After 6 years of no diagnosis I went 900 miles to the Mayo Clinic Arizona. Took $15,000 with no insurance was supposed to see multiple Drs multiple test! Once I ran out of money at the lab bloodwork test for rheumatology they said go pay $1300 and then will pull labs!! I told them I’m out they said go back to Utah get labs done I did ANA way high but nobody read it. So their wealth care system failed me terribly. Got Medicare went back year later and was told Anxiety. LOL now I’m in heart failure and they won’t have me back. Denying all referrals! Still no diagnosis. So it seems all that matters to them is the money. So sad. I heard they were the best. I would never recommend them to anyone. They don’t care!! I’ve heard the Minnesota one is better. I’m Christain and always try to leave positive reviews but people should know the truth my FB support group and pastors wife told me let people know!! I’m sorry I could say alot more with portal pics to prove this but just read the other reviews tells enough. Bloody chunks coming out eyes. Veins sinking in. Swelling around neck. BP 55/30-200/159. Anxiety!"
"The care is excellent, but when something does happen they give you a food voucher to use. Good luck using it, I checked out at the food services in Scottsdale and they said the voucher was no good even though it had no expiration date. They said I could go back to where I got it and get a new one, BUT that doesn't help when I am standing there with the food already made. Again, patient experience mishap."
"After much thought of this review I will say the good first then my negative critique. Mayo has the funds and means to give the cutting edge care which really may save a patient’s life. Did Mayo and staff give my mother a fighting chance to live, yes they did. Did they extend her life overall while ill… probably but I m not certain. Collaboration and coordination was not the greatest with my mother’s Leukemia and oncology management under Dr. Panwani was good for his parts but really lacked in overall general management of her symptoms and attention to detail with follow up. She needed Palliative care long before her death to help manage and coordinate care which Dr. Panwani seemed to insist keeping under his watch. I honestly feel he held on too long and cost us ( the family) precious goodbye time with my mother Deborah Dunn. Mayo and his department seemed so fixated of her “cure” they forgot to give her appropriate hospice time to say goodbye and give appropriate spiritual time need. This review is a warning to have pause and advocate for yourself and family that seek care at Mayo to know when the right time to reel in the expectation of the “miracle cure”. Mayo is a business after all, and after all the bills and interventions which came from my mother’s illness, she is gone and had very little time to say goodbye. I honestly feel Mayo and Dr. Panwani cost us this precious time chasing protocols that do not necessarily benefit the patient but their research."
"If I could give this clinic 0 stars I could. Communication with patients is terrible and trying to be treated here is nothing short of a joke. My family member has been seeking care here since she had a 2 night stay in the Mayo Phoenix emergency room. She was referred to neurology at the Scottsdale clinic to help take care of a debilitating condition that has kept her out of work for 8 weeks now. She is on the verge of losing her job because they say they won't write her employer a note stating what she is experiencing or why she can't physically work. They are not trying to get her in to diagnose and treat her. Communication is terrible because it only happens via electronic messaging on the app and thing get misunderstood and it takes a long time. I would not recommend getting treated through The Mayo Clinic because they really don't seem to care about finding the root of the problem and treating their patients"
