"Wish I would have looked at the reviews before coming. Seeing Jason Castro was a total waste of my time today. Just told me that struggling with migraines is common for women my age and there’s nothing you can do for them aside from taking a similar form of medication I told him that wasn’t working for me. I’ve been looking for this appointment for 3 months to get an MRI for at least for closure. That was what my appointment was for and I am honestly so disappointed he couldn’t help me get to the root of the cause instead of throwing useless medication at me."
"My doctor recommended Western Neurology to me so after he sent the referral & my records I called to schedule an appointment, I was told they didn’t have anything yet, even though it had been two weeks, called my doctors office and she said that she had a confirmation that the fax went through and that she would call them. She called me back shortly later and told me that they refused to see me because I saw a different neurologist last year! So apparently they did have my records if they were seeing that! What difference does it make if I saw a neurologist last year? I was looking for a new neurologist on my side of town. The other one was way on the northwest side of town and I was not happy with the care I received there. I told my doctors office that this might be a blessing in disguise because the receptionist was quite snotty with me both times I called and apparently they are to good to see someone in need if they saw someone else a year ago. Save yourself some time & go elsewhere!!!!!"
"The scheduling staff at this clinic urgently require retraining in professionalism and customer service. For a facility that deals with sensitive neurological health issues, the lack of empathy and compassion is profoundly disheartening. My recent experience was particularly distressing; while discussing a critical follow-up appointment and concerns for my husband post his first grand mal seizure, the scheduler constantly interrupted and spoke over me in a very condescending manner, pre-emptively and wrongfully assuming I would be argumentative or rude. Instead of wasting both our time by sarcastically over-explaining the obvious and understandable reasons why specialists appointments are booked so far out, It would have been more helpful if she had simply offered to place my husband on a cancellation or waitlist to begin with. Rather than being understanding and addressing my concerns, her approach was defensive and extremely discourteous."
"NEVER in my experience with office staff and doc assistant have I been treated so awful. ....never. I was ~yelled at. Gaslighted. Not able to get ONE word in with receptionist or whoever it was. I felt like I was talking to 17 yr olds. ... This has happened 3 times with this place. They tried to turn things around to me being a Villain and terrible monster of a patient when I know I wasn't. I am frightened of my condition and have been doing everything I can to get help. ..... they faulted me for everything and tried to convince me I was a problem instead of a patient with a serious unresolved issue. They snapped at me several times RUDELY telling me what I needed to do to have even slight consideration. I have been going through an emotional mental breakdown because of my symptoms along with full body uncontrollable tremors that are almost costing my job and explaining to them my confusion and that I cannot get a regular doc appointment until April was like explaining to someone on Speed. They didn't give me half a chance to try to figure out what I needed to do. Instead they scorned and snapped at me like untrained teenagers. I almost felt one of them was putting on a show in front of their coworkers. It was absolutely awful. I am FRIGHTENED of this place. Was also told the Neurologist probably wouldn't be able to do anything when I haven't even seen them yet and they base it on a referral that was not even from my regular doctor that I can't even get in to see yet. So whatever the situation is........ the point here is that they cannot handle their jobs in any way and will treat you like you shouldn't exist. I can't wait to see the other office with adults that reached out to me treating me normal. I'm going to let them know what happened here as well as higher up organizations who monitor these practices. This place can cause someone to fall into a horrible state and I fear even worse with weak people in need or at least professional guidance."
"I have a seizure disorder and am a single dad to a 20 month old, so managing myself carefully and taking care of blowouts, teething, and the occasional throw up, it’s hard for me to get around on time. Even if I leave an hour early to somewhere 10 minutes away, if my son poops all over, then ends up throwing up and I have to clean him up and change him twice, I’m going to be significantly late. There is no understanding or compassion from the medical staff (the office assistants are great) and there also is a severe lack of knowledge in their field. I have been treating my disorder with the doctor admittedly telling me he has no idea what’s going on, my recent scans the MA called to tell me things have gotten worse but wouldn’t have the doctor explain. Stressful. And ironic, because they tell you stress is one of the main antagonists. I would get your questions answered by Chat GPT while you wait for a more compassionate and empathetic neurology team."
